In anticipation of their forthcoming full-length North American debut, brother/sister duo ANGUS AND JULIA STONE will release HOLLYWOOD EP on November 11 through iTunes. The digital only release will be exclusive to iTunes for one week before going up on all major digital service providers. The band, whose album recently went Platinum in Australia, has announced four US tour dates in November, their first shows ever in the states (tour dates below).

HOLLYWOOD EP is the second in a series of three digital only EPs that will be released in the coming months, all leading up to the March 2009 release of the band’s full-length debut.

The title track is an achingly melodic fairytale gone-wrong. With an engaging vocal, JULIA redresses childhood dreams and pricks the Disney bubble with a dose of hard won wisdom. A previously unreleased video, equally as engaging and dreamlike as the track itself, will accompany the EP.

Their first EP, Just A Boy EP, was released last month and also included a video for the title track. Current TV spotted the video online and posted it in a broadcast for “Current Virals–The Top 5 Hottest Breaking Videos” on the web.

ANGUS AND JULIA STONE are currently in the midst of a 23-city UK and European tour opening for Martha Wainwright. They will return to the US for a full-fledged tour around the March album release.

Bio:

The musical story of Angus & Julia Stone began when they were children. Raised in the northern beaches of Sydney, music was an integral part of family life, with music as the bloodline through both their mother and father’s families. Angus and Julia lived in an environment that encouraged expressing themselves through their voices and instruments. Eventually, the duo began to press up their own CDs to sell at local gigs, catching the attention of Australian alternative radio stations. The opportunity arose in 2006 for Angus & Julia to spend an extended time in London, UK where they started with sporadic acoustic nights that quickly developed into a way of life, turning into headlining gigs. They were also taken under the wing of Fran Healy, lead vocalist for Travis, who invited them to his house to play some demos, which eventually became a part of their debut ful! l-length.
