In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, frontman, Ronnie Winter, of Jacksonville, Florida’s platinum rock group THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS had the opportunity to speak at the 18th Annual National Multidisciplinary Conference on Domestic Violence: Celebrating Survival…Celebrating You held in San Diego, CA.
“It was an honor to take part in the conference and share my life experience with so many incredible people. The band and I feel fortunate that our talents allow us to raise awareness on social causes that are so important to us,” says Winter.
Since the July, 2006 release of their debut Virgin Records album Don’t You Fake It, RJA has been an active force in raising funds and awareness for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including: teen suicide prevention and mental health parity; a far-reaching commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence; and in the formation of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation, which supports under funded high school programs, individuals affected by domestic violence and contributes to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients.
RJA are currently wrapping up in the studio and preparing to release their sophomore album in February 09 -on Virgin Records/EMI, yet to be titled. Fans can hear new music at www.myspace.com/redjumpsuit
