From the beginning of his career, singer/songwriter/rocker Pete Yorn [www.peteyorn.com] has been the topic of numerous critical accolades. Having been Featured in Rolling Stone magazine and USA Today, Yorn is no stranger to the spotlight. His music has been included in original soundtracks for a number of films, including “Orange County” (2001), “Spider-Man” (2002) and “Shrek 2″ (2004). He has also toured actively since the release of musicforthemorningafter and shared bills with the Foo Fighters, Semisonic, Coldplay, REM, and others.

Currently, Yorn is in the studio working on his new record.

1. What’s your favorite political movie?

DOWNFALL (der untergang 2004) directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel.

2. What role do you feel art plays in politics?

politics itself is an art form…one can not exist without the other… great art and personal expression can be easily regarded as politics. either way, some one or some group is making a statement in an attempt to sway public opinion on some matter or to stand for what they believe in. Art and politics are a reflection of the times.

3. What do you think is the biggest issue for the next generation of Americans?

weening off PDA’s and slowing down

4. Who was the first political candidate you were excited to vote for and why?

although i was too young…i really loved ron reagan…he had great hair.

5. What factors are important to you in choosing a president?

less talk more action

6. What issues would you like to see politicians focus more on?

social security, environment, health, spirit, smart defense

7. Which issues would you like to see politicians focus less on?

mudslinging and blame

8. Which candidate’s initiatives do you feel better address environmental concerns?

i’ll tell you in 4 years

Get out and vote…you’ve earned it. however…..after election day..life goes on…what you gonna do?
