CHICAGO, 2009, upcoming release of 1555 Filmworks feature film “I USED TO LOVE HER” DVD.

Life gets more interesting each day. Feature film “I USED TO LOVE HER” is a story about a famous female singer that falls in love with a po’ broke spoken word artist that she plans to leave her rich, hip hop, possessive, physically abusive superstar boyfriend for.

Many distributors either turned this film down for lack of star talent or the offers were entirely too low. How does the old adage go ‘life imitates art or art imitates life’ something like that i guess.

It didn’t come to my attention until calls start pouring in from distributors that our story has many similarities with the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident. “Life is truly Imitating Art”

In I USED TO LOVE HER, we purposely shined a light on verbal and physical abuse towards women in the entertainment business. Hip Hop, Superstar Shawn (Lorenzo Hunt) is abusive towards Simee Smith – was this prophesy, did we see it coming, who knows. But, months ago, this was one of the reasons distributors shied away from this film. Those who had interest clearly stated some retailers would never put an urban film out with a man choking a woman in the artwork.

In I USED TO LOVE HER, Terrance (Simeon Henderson) tells Ramadan (Mel Roberson) “if he starts to get cold sores (herpes) that he got it from Simee Smith (Toya Turner) for doing what she had to do to make it. Well, allegedly this is the reason Chris Brown acted a fool.

So, I USED TO LOVE HER is a film that you can catch the summer of 09. I will be closing our deal in the next few weeks. I USED TO LOVE HER l has been screening all over the world in festivals and theaters, like many parents have been saying about this film “it’s a teaching tool for young adults.” If distributors would have been calling us like they are now, the film could have been released and maybe it would have got in Chris Brown and Rihanna’s hands and just maybe they wouldn’t be in this position.
