Montreal quartet, Winter Gloves has just released an excellent new video for their song, “Let Me Drive.” The video features a performance from the band displayed using a number of different flip books and was directed by Benjamin Weinstein (Moby, Silverstein, Metric). Utilizing individual photos that were taken in a separate shoot, the band was able synch the music and flip books together to make their performance come to life!

The video was premiered by Pitchfork TV this week – “Our minds (and hands) hurt just thinking about all the work that went into this animated clip for Winter Gloves’ ‘Let Me Drive.’ Director Benjamin Weinstein cycles through dozens of old-school flip books in order to bring this Montreal band’s nervy rock to life.”

Originally started as a solo project of Charles F. (lead singer/songwriter/wurlitzer), Winter Gloves soon evolved into a four-piece “glock-rock” (har har) ensemble that includes Pat Sayers (drums), Vincent Chalifour (synth) and Jean-Michel Pigeon (guitar/glockenspiel). The band recently released a three-song, digital-only Let Me Drive EP and is gearing up for their debut full-length about a girl, on March 24th (Paper Bag Records).

If you’re going to be at SXSW, be sure to check out Winter Gloves when they play the Paper Bag Records showcase on Wednesday, March 18th and the M for Montreal vs. T for Toronto showcase on Saturday, March 21st.
