FUN, THE NEW PROJECT FROM NATE RUESS (THE FORMAT), ANDREW DOST (ANATHALLO) & JACK ANTONOFF (STEEL TRAIN) CONFIRMED NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA
fun., the exciting new project from Nate Ruess, formerly of The Format, ex-Anathallo multi-instrumentalist Andrew Dost and Steel Train’s Jack Antonoff, have embarked on a 34-date tour with Manchester Orchestra which began April 21st in Nashville, TN. Melding a stunning array of diverse inspirations that are vibrant and alive, these three extraordinarily talented musicians have crafted an irresistible debut that rethinks classic 70s pop, where ornate arrangements and inspired orchestrations meet present-day rock ‘n’ roll. This highly anticipated ingenious debut will be released this coming August via Nettwerk Records.
Due to the overwhelming demand on the bands MySpace page, fun. is offering fans a free download of their song “At Least I’m Not As Sad (As I Used To Be),” a track where Ruess belts extravagantly over a backdrop of festive horns and steel drums. Within the first 24 hours, this stunning song was met with instant excitement, receiving over 80,000 plays on popular websites, blogs and the band’s MySpace page.
fun. looks forward to spending most of 2009 on the road, bringing fans their finely wrought chamber-pop orchestrations with guitar-fueled rock ‘n’ roll that bursts with richly prolix lyricism and intricate melodic twists and turns.
