GREAT LAKE SWIMMERS BACK ON THE HEATSEEKERS CHART OVER A MONTH AFTER ALBUM RELEASE
“Toronto’s Great Lake Swimmers make music that leaves you feeling as though you’ve been let in on a tender, precious secret.” – CBC
The Swimmers continue to reach fantastic new heights, proving to be one of the early sleeper hits of the year and a must hear from critics nationwide.
This week, the band’s latest release, Lost Channels, stormed back on to the Billboard Heatseekers Chart to land at #9, more than a month after its release on March 31st. The sales success comes on the back of an extremely impressive showing on Amazon, reaching the #1 MP3 sales position for over 3 days straight. In Canada, the band has held steady in the Top 200 since release day 5 weeks ago.
Currently playing to sold out audiences across Europe and the UK, this summer will include main stage appearances at festivals across Canada and a full US routing in the works for August / September.
For a taste of GLS live, click on the “The Legion Sessions” below. Named for the locale in which the videos were recorded (a Canadian Legion Pub in downtown Toronto), these stunningly beautiful shots create a raw and intimate window into the subtle power of the group’s sound.
The first track on the album, “Palmistry,” took its rightful place as the first video to be released directly to the band’s fan sites. Current single “Pulling on a Line” is the second track to be released from the Sessions and is featured now on AOL Spinner.
