ROCK PLAZA CENTRAL OFFERS “(DON’T YOU BELIEVE THE WORDS OF) HANDSOME MEN” FOR MP3 DOWNLOAD

Toronto six-piece Rock Plaza Central are offering a free mp3 download of “(Don’t You Believe the Words of) Handsome Men” in support of their forthcoming release and Paper Bag Records debut, At The Moment Of Our Most Needing, Or If Only They Could Turn Around, They Would Know They Weren’t Alone, coming out on June 16th. The album is the band’s follow-up to 2006’s critically-acclaimed release, Are We Not Horses?

With influences ranging from William Faulkner to Palace/Oldham, Tom Waits and Van Morrison, RPC’s profile grew quickly after a pair of glowing reviews from Pitchfork, one being an 8.4 stating, “the music is so surefooted and evocative…accessible, supremely affecting, and unique.” Shortly thereafter they were on the cover of CMJ and were called “stars-in-waiting” by David Fricke at Rolling Stone. Their independently-released album also made many top 10 lists for the year. Rock Plaza Central has been on a tour of the US, and will return to the states in August.
