The remarkable young career of Capitol Records breakthrough artist KATY PERRY notches up a milestone with unabated global momentum, at the one-year anniversary of the RIAA platinum-plus debut album ONE OF THE BOYS.

Having completed a sold-out world tour, Perry has confirmed new U.S. live dates in July, August and September. Perry also will be re-visiting the United Kingdom and Australia in the summer months.

At the same time, WAKING UP IN VEGAS, the fourth hit single from the massively-influential album has proven to be a late-inning home run: a solid Top 10 airplay hit on mainstream Top 40 radio nationally, with No. 1 play at the top-rated New York station WHTZ/Z-100; a No. 1 iTunes video download; and, amazingly, a top 10 iTunes single download, after a full year’s availability. The video was directed by MTV VMA and Grammy Award winner Joseph Kahn, and co-starred Joel David Moore (Bones, House, Avatar).

The song, which was also performed live by Perry and her band in a rocket-fueled and much-talked about appearance in the final voting round of American Idol, has also renewed album sales, with ONE OF THE BOYS bulleting in the Billboard national album sales Top 50, in its 52nd chart week, and also charting in the iTunes album Top 50.

is now visible on newsstands, on the covers of Seventeen (July issue) and Complex (summer issue), and is scheduled to appear in the popular outdoor concert series of NBC’s Today show on July 24th.

Praised in The New York Times as a “complex and durable” artist, Perry’s debut album on Capitol, ONE OF THE BOYS, is RIAA certified platinum for U.S. sales in excess of 1 million copies. It debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Top 200 in June, 2008. Her first single, the seven-week Billboard No. 1 “I Kissed a Girl,” is certified triple-platinum, its disarmingly frank and humorous lyric and trend-setting electronic rhythm marking it immediately among the most influential songs of recent years. “Hot N Cold” is also certified triple-platinum in the U.S., and the album has achieved gold and platinum status in over a dozen international territories.
