The Jaguar Club
‘And We Wake Up Slowly’
One of Brooklyn’s finest new young bands The Jaguar Club are readying their debut self-release LP ‘And We Wake Up Slowly’ out on September 1, 2009. Songs written in a dark Brooklyn basement and recorded in a creaky barn upstate, resulted in an amazing amalgamation of garagey rock tracks propelled forward by Jeremiah Joyce’s explosive percussion and Yoichiro Fujita’s strong bassline with vocals that soar courtesy of singer/guitarist Will Popadic’s penetrating voice not unlike the monotone croon of Interpol’s Paul Banks or even Morrissey combined with lyrical styling reminiscent of David Byrne.

“Apart from the new romantic singing style of front-man Will Popadic, I don’t think there’s anything overtly retro about Jaguar Club’s sound. They’re doing their own thing.“ -Brooklyn Vegan
