LOS ANGELES, CA – Australia’s rock trio, Sick Puppies will hit the road with Shinedown this fall in support of their recent release, Tri-Polar, which was released on July 14 on RMR/Virgin Records/EMI Music. The tour will kick off in Madison, WI on September 14 at The Orpheum Theater and will include stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, and Nashville.
Sick Puppies’ recently shot a new video for their hit single “You’re Going Down,” which also served as the theme for WWE’s Extreme Rules PPV broadcast last month. The band decided to take a less predictable route to back the popular fight anthem. The video involves kids, neighborhood bullies, and a massive water balloon fight that takes place in a pristine suburban setting. The video will premiere on MTV2 and MTVu’s Unleashed Tuesday, August 11. The lead single “You’re Going Down,” continues to gain momentum at radio charting Top 15 at Modern, Top 10 at Active Rock, and Top 30 at Rock formats.
The Aussie rock trio has teamed up with Samsung Mobile™ and T-Mobile to support the release of the independent film Rock Prophecies, which is about the band’s good friend, legendary rock photographer Robert M. Knight, who originally took the group under his wing when they came to America, introducing them to the people who helped kick-start their stateside career. Samsung has sponsored showings of the film along their last tour, promoting their camera phone, under the banner, Samsung Memoir Presents Rock Prophecies. The band will play an exclusive party for Rock Prophecies screening sponsored by Samsung in New York on August 13 at Top of The Rock at Rockefeller Center.
In addition, Sick Puppies are currently running a Tri-Polar giveaway contest online through Total Assault. The contest runs through August 24 and fans will have a chance to win a 32″ LCD TV, Samsung Memoir phone and Samsung Blue Tooth headsets.
Sick Puppies are currently featured on Joost.com’s “Countdown to Release” feature with a series of webisodes that document the making of the album at www.joost.com. They have also released a variety of exclusive content at iTunes, Napster.com and Walmart.com. Fans can also insert the Tri-Polar CD into their computer and it will direct them to a site with access to free downloads of a pair of trailers from Rock Prophecies featuring the Sick Puppies, as well as an exclusive, previously unavailable bonus track.
Sick Puppies relocated to Los Angeles four years ago, taking the world by storm with their song, “All The Same,” used for a video shot in a Sydney shopping mall featuring their friend Juan Mann, who held up a hand-written placard offering “Free Hugs,” a clip seen by more than 48 million viewers on YouTube alone, spurring six-figure sales of their RMR/Virgin Records/EMI Music major label debut, Dressed Up As Life. In recent times, SICK PUPPIES (Shimon Moore, guitar and vocals, Emma Anzai, bass, Mark Goodwin, drums) completed a two-month headline tour, and a series of gigs supporting Evanescence, Deftones, Velvet Revolver, Evanescence, Chris Cornell, Flyleaf, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven.
