JULIETTE COMMAGERE JOINS PETE YORN FOR WEST COAST TOUR, HEADS TO THE DESERT TO WORK ON NEW ALBUM
In one of the most harmonious of pairings among LA songwriters this summer, psych-pop songstress Juliette Commagere and the wonderful Pete Yorn will be teaming up for a West Coast tour, starting August 20th! Juliette and her multi-piece band, which includes husband and drummer Joachim Cooder, recently returned from a 20-date European tour supporting Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe.
In between tours, Juliette has been spending time in Taos, New Mexico, where she is finishing work on her new album. As she once told the LAist in an interview, “I just [write] and [try] to escape…[the] crazy madness of LA.” Juliette’s as-yet-untitled album and followup to her solo debut Queens Die Proudly (Aeronaut Records), will build on her classical influences and showcase her sense of adventure and willingness to experiment. Juliette worked one of her new songs, “Hold On,” into the set on her European tour, and will be debuting the song in the US for all to hear on this tour.
After this string of tour dates with Pete Yorn, Juliette will head to the studio to record her forthcoming sophomore release, before venturing out to the other side of the world once again with Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe. This time they will head west for a tour around Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

“… an album of lonely post-breakup song — with their sorrows gorgeously sublimated.” – New York Times Sunday Playlist, Jon Pareles
“A vividly orchestrated pop-art project veering from the wistful and elegiac to the epic and otherwordly, ‘Queens’ is like a No. 1 chart-topper from another dimension, where remarkably memorable songs are given evocative musical twists via her classically designed song structures and sensual ’70s synth stylings.” – LA Weekly “Rock Pick,” John Payne
“Extraordinary” – San Francisco Chronicle
“…an alluring bit of modern pop featuring [Juliette's] beautiful voice and clever percussion by her husband Joachim Cooder.” – Wall Street Journal
“Equipped with an unusual gift for ambient power balladry, Juliette Commagere employs her all-encompassing voice to sing about melancholic isolation…[and] magnificently portrays these feelings through her own unique style.” – Venus Zine
“‘Queens Dies Proudly’ is not a work to be taken lightly…it makes you feel something so profound that you’ve got to take a step back before experiencing it again.” – Performing Songwriter
