Steve Lawler Announces VIVa North America Tour
Steve Lawler is returning to North America with his VIVa MUSiC Tour this Fall. Fresh from teaming with Luciano’s Cadenza label at WMC, partnering with Resident Advisor for We Love…at Ibiza’s Space and after going toe to toe with M_NUS in Moscow, VIVa will be hitting the wide-open American road again, with Steve Lawler headlining twelve dates kicking off October 27, 2009.
It’s been a seminal year for Steve Lawler and his VIVa MUSiC label, with both enjoying huge acclaim. Lawler’s production work has been lauded and snapped up by the likes of Dubfire’s Sci+Tec, Josh Wink’s Ovum and the legendary techno imprint R&S. VIVa MUSiC artists like Simon Baker, Audiofly, Livio & Roby, Matt Tolfrey and Leon, showed the world exactly why Steve was so right to back them several years ago, and Steve has continued his triumphant reign of the world-renowned Space club in Ibiza.
Last year Steve toured the US with his comrades in arms Audiofly and Tiefschwarz, championing VIVa’s underground sensibilities across some of America’s top venues. It was dark, it was edgy and it was deep jackin’ house all night long, and fans can expect more in a similar vein from the 2009 VIVa US tour.
During that 2008 US trip the trio recorded an EP ‘On The Bus’ on their tour bus for VIVa MUSiC, the tracks of which have been remixed by Radio Slave, David K & Tolga Fidan and will be released to coincide with the 2009 VIVa MUSiC US tour. VIVa MUSiC artist Jimmy Hill will join Steve Lawler on the tour, opening each date of the tour, and fans can expect some surprise guests to pop up in the DJ booth alongside Steve throughout the tour.
“The VIVa MUSiC Bus Tour last year was a benchmark for us, and something we hope others will follow. Getting a studio on the bus was challenging to say the least, but what we achieved was great and something we’ll continue to do. Touring with friends like Luca, Anthony, Basti and Ali on a bus for 3 weeks in America was a lot of fun!” said Steve Lawler.
Few DJs can boast that after seventeen years behind the decks they continue to evolve, advance and perhaps most importantly, entertain. Famed for his marathon sets that disregard the rules and limitation of genre specificity, Lawler has staked his musical reputation on a fearless commitment to what’s new, what’s fresh and what moves him. Come hear for yourself…VIVa la revolucion!
