NEWVILLAGER TO CURATE ART INSTALLATION AT HUMAN RESOURCES GALLERY IN LOS ANGELES THIS JUNE

NINE DAY EXHIBIT TO FEATURE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A “VILLAGE” IN WHICH THE BAND WILL LIVE, SLEEP AND PERFORM

The ever-evolving NYC-based music and art collective started by Ben Bromley and Ross Simonini, more formally known to the world as NewVillager, will come together this June in support of their upcoming IAMSOUND full length debut release to present their third art installation, Temporary Culture, at Los Angeles art gallery Human Resources. Taking the concept of the band and its mythology a step further, NewVillager will build a live installation, setting up a loop of of nine rooms throughout the gallery, where band members will build shelters and live for nine days from June 13th – June 22nd, curating different art and music installations each night. Over the course of nine days, the band will build for three nights and stage different hour and a half-performances for the following six nights, including on-stage musical performance in the interest of creating a “temporary culture” over the duration of the exhibition. The space will be transformed during the nine days, with the final presentation and live musical performance culminating on the last night, June 21st. Fellow performers will include members of Lucky Dragons, Worst Friends, Princeton, a few dozen LA-based artists, and the director, Ben Dickinson, with whom NewVillager has often collaborated.

NewVillager is quickly getting notice in both the art and music world for their multi-dimensional stage shows and avant-garde DIY videos. This, their second gallery exhibition as a group, will mark the beginning of an amazing journey down a road that only the wildest imaginations could conceive!
