Bonnaroo 2012 Daily Line Up preview Friday, June 8th, 2012

Choices are typically seen as a good thing. Regardless, I’m usually the person that yells, “Just effing decide.” “Point and choose.” Progressively getting frustrated when people take more than five seconds to favour one thing over an other (especially on a short menu). Today, I’m proven to be hypocritical in how I advise people weigh their options as I’ve been pondering for weeks.
Bonnaroo go-ers are faced with many dilemmas today. None more disappointing for me than having to make a decision between Black Star and Major Lazer. Having never seen Mos Def and Talib Kweli perform together, I’m inclined to side with them. However I have seen Major Lazer live, which is what makes this decision so hard to reach. Both Kweli and Yasiin Bey as he’s now known I’ve seen perform by themselves well, but together? Performing from their 1998 self titled album? Sounds too hard to avoid. But as I said, I’ve seen Major Lazer live. They’re not to be missed. Period.
That issue won’t come up until after midnight though. We’re all going to be faced with huge confusion even as the day kicks off.
Electric Guest or The Kooks? Fitz & The Tantrums versus Little Dragon versus Trampled By Turtles? I’m whining about suchchoices as if having just one perform a full set wouldn’t be a fantastic show.
With all the clashes, you’ll have to find time to visit The Comedy Theatre to catch one of Aziz Ansari‘s sets, or one of the many other acts including Marc Maron, Judah Frielander and Amy Schumer amonst others.
It’ll be as surprise where the crowd will congregate at 10:00PM, maybe Radiohead‘s lone slot with little to no other choice? Funny how their only competition in their time slot is breakdancing and a screening in the Cinema Tent… That said, they’re pretty fantastic live. With this being my fourth time seeing them, I know where I’ll be.
