PEPPER, the comical and funky clown princes of “aloha” inspired dub-rock, originally from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii will debut online their first 3-D music video for their new single, “Drunk Girl” on Tuesday, Dec. 21st, 2010. The video will premiere globally on Pepper’s official website www.pepperlive.com and be available for purchase on iTunes. This video is a first-of-its-kind “live-concert” debut into the 3-D marketplace for an independent band of this stature without a major label budget.

“Drunk Girl” will be viewable on ANY computer with PEPPER’s red and blue 3-D glasses (anaglyph format) and on 3-D laptops, desktops, and TVs that utilize the passive-polarized and electronic shutter-glasses technology. In addition to YouTube 3-D, the video will air on new 3-D mobile devices and elsewhere in a 2-D version. PEPPER filmed “Drunk Girl” live on location at The Grove in Anaheim, CA on October, 15, 2010, the opening night of their current “Like A Surgeon” tour in support of their new EP Stitches featuring the track. The song has already landed rotation spins on San Francisco’s Live 105 FM, West Palm Beach’s Buzz 103 FM radio stations, and 99x in Atlanta; to name a few.

PEPPER enlisted Director Erik Spicard and Producer/Musician Lee Jaffe (Bob Marley, Barrington Levy) to create their 3-D video. Spicard, who shot and edited the video explains, “Since the band opted to use footage from one of their live shows, my crew and I created our own portable 3-D camera rigs from pairs of HD camcorders to shoot the concert guerilla-style. Our hand-held wireless rigs let us run around freely to capture the energy of the band’s performance at The Grove in Anaheim, California. ”

Spicard actually edited the video in 3-D while depth-balancing the 3-D images, displaying a seamless blend. Using new proprietary editing techniques, Spicard was able to quickly cut the video by creating high-impact 3-D looping effects between the interaction of the band and screaming fans.

PEPPER, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams, mix their Hawaiian rock “shock and awe” flare, along with their mellow island rhythms and funky sexual roots to create their own truly diverse sound. Burbank, CA – Sire/Action Theory Records artists The Maine will release an iTunes-exclusive LP entitled In Darkness and In Light on December 29th, 2010. The LP features the short film In Darkness and In Light, which was created and scored by The Maine. The LP also includes an 8-song EP with B-sides, acoustic tracks, and the score from the film, as well as 150 never before seen photos and a video documenting the making of the In Darkness And In Light film and score.

The 17-minute short film draws upon many of the same themes that are prevalent in The Maine’s full-length Black & White. “We wanted to express our creativity through a medium other than just music. This is a risk we wanted to take to see just how far we could take things without jeopardizing our integrity as musicians,” says frontman John O’Callaghan. “This phase in our bands’ career represents metamorphosis. We are striving to take every aspect of The Maine to the furthest boundary in hopes to solidify our vision. My hope is that you come along for the ride, and embark on the next chapter with us.”

The Phoenix five-piece released their major-label debut Black & White on July 13, 2010. New Orleans heavy metal act haarp has just unveiled two new tracks with BrooklynVegan.com and InvisibleOranges.com today! BrooklynVegan is currently streaming the track ‘A New Reign’, and InvisibleOranges is currently streaming ‘The Blue Chamber Painted Red’. Both tracks are cut from haarp’s upcoming album, The Filth, to be released on November 23rd, 2010 on HOUSECORE RECORDS.

The band recently posted the never-before-seen album art on their MySpace page, illustrated by famed artist and tattoo master Paul Booth. The Filth is produced by HOUSECORE RECORDS label owner Philip Anselmo.

“When Phil called me all excited about this new brutality and its unique concepts he needed cover art for, I could immediately tell his conviction and excitement far surpassed his usual dark vigor,” recalls album artist Paul Booth. “Of course, I was in. Once Keith presented me with one of haarp’s lyrical concepts in regards to Gluttony, it was actually amazing to me how similar their ideas were to my own. This collaborative vision was meant to be, as far as I was concerned. I look forward to creating more art to this slow and painfully twisted epic of doom.”

On August 27th, 2005, two of New Orleans’ extreme metal bands, manic grind freaks rat in a bucket and black metal blazers De Capa Preta, were slated to play a show at the now defunct Dixie Taverne in the heart of Mid-City. Due to ‘inclement weather’ and the threat of Hurricane Katrina making landfall, the bands decided that since many people were evacuating the city, the show could not go on.

Hurricane Katrina struck and devastated the Gulf Coast region and effected many aspects of people’s lives. The music scene in New Orleans was not spared from this change and many bands, including rat in a bucket and De Capa Preta, suffered members departing the band, and ultimately calling it quits.

Keith Sierra Jr., drummer from rat in a bucket, and Grant Tom, guitarist from De Capa Preta, got in contact with each other from their temporary locations and discussed the state of the music scene. After digging up old conversations and ideas they had discussed at various local shows, they decided to return to New Orleans and start a new band. This new band would approach music from a new direction from the speed and chaos of their respective previous bands, and focus more on mid-tempo and slower music. The immediate choice for vocalist was Shaun Emmons of rat in a bucket, who shared the varied and eclectic musical tastes of Keith and Grant. Several tryouts later, Ryan Pomes of Milktoast joined the group and finalized the lineup as bassist.

“To call haarp “slow” would be somewhat fair, but to say that they’re just “another slow band” would be sacrilege,” states label owner Philip Anselmo. “Their music is crushing, resolute, dramatic and conceptually insane. If critics are going to try and lump them into any one genre, than they’d better put the crown on haarp’s collective heads once it’s picked. This ain’t Doom Metal by any stretch. haarp makes playing halftime sound like an original idea all over again. This music is essential.”

Metalcore veterans DISEMBODIED are pleased to announce a handful of dates to be performed throughout the month of October on the east coast. DISEMBODIED are returning to the metal scene with a vengeance after a ten year hiatus. The San Antonio-based trio, Girl In A Coma, were chosen by Joan Jett herself for her Blackheart Records label and have toured extensively with Morrissey, at the personal invitation of the man who penned the song that inspired their name. After successfully releasing a series of three Adventures in Coverland EPs on 7-inch vinyl this April, Girl in a Coma will release these tracks as a full-length CD along with three brand new tracks October 19 on Blackheart Records.

On June 12th, 2008, on the eve of their headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music Fesival, multi-platinum rock band Metallica played an intimate, surprise performance at The Basement, an 150-capacity venue below Nashville record store Grimey’s New & Preloved Music. Now the explosive energy of that hot and sweaty, packed-to-the-rafters show has been captured on the recording Live at Grimey’s, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on the day after Thanksgiving, November 26th (known in retail circles as “Black Friday”).

Live at Grimey’s, which includes such highlights as “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” a blistering “Master of Puppets,” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” will be released on standard CD plus as a limited-edition two-disc set on regular-weight 10” vinyl with a gatefold jacket.

In keeping with Metallica’s steadfast support of independent music retailers, Live at Grimey’s will be sold to those who support Record Store Day, an annual event on the third Saturday in April that celebrates the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the U.S. and hundreds of stores internationally.
