Kottonmouth Kings To Release Greatest Highs, First Ever Career-Spanning Collection

For Immediate Release:

KOTTONMOUTH KINGS TO RELEASE ‘GREATEST HIGHS,’ BAND’S FIRST CAREER-SPANNING COLLECTION, ON JANUARY 15, 2008

Compiled by the Band, New 2-CD and Digital Collection Packs 39 Tracks, Including Two Previously Unreleased Songs

New Dates Added to Kottonmouth Kings “Cloud 9 Tour”
***

Hollywood, California – California’s reigning rip-hop originators, Kottonmouth Kings, have partnered with Capitol/EMI for their first-ever career-spanning collection, Greatest Highs. To be released in a 2-CD package and digitally on January 15, 2008, the 39-track set stashes the band’s most smokin’ joints, including singles, album cuts and collaborative tracks from the vaults of Capitol Records and the Kings’ own Suburban Noize Records. In addition to standout hits including “Bump,” “Positive Vibes” and “Suburban Life,” the collection also exclusively features two previously unreleased tracks and a package essay by the group’s founder and emcee/producer, Brad “Daddy” X.

From their 1998 hit single, “Suburban Life,” to cuts from the band’s latest album, Cloud 9, released in August, Greatest Highs spans the Kottonmouth Kings’ career in one sweeping collection. Tracks from all nine of the Kings’ studio albums are featured, including collaborations with Insane Clown Posse, Tech 9 and Cypress Hill, as well as two previously unreleased songs, “Can Anybody Hear Me” and “No Future.”

“We are so consumed by living in the moment and pushing limits that we hardly have time to reflect on this sick adventure we have been on,” says Brad “Daddy” X in his Greatest Highs package essay. “To this day it amazes me what a profound impact the Kings have on people! Maybe it is the brutal honesty or the realness of the band that connects with people. I can’t explain it.”

With 12 years of touring and recording under their belts and more than one million records and concert tickets sold, Kottonmouth Kings manage an established and thriving underground operation that encompasses the band’s own record and merchandise company, Suburban Noize, a self-published fanzine and direct CD, DVD and merchandise sales to their fans around the world.
Kottonmouth Kings have long been a cornerstone of one of today’s most radical music movements in America and beyond. Combining mind-bending sonics, and fusing hip-hop, punk rock, and classic soul, The Kings have innovated and pioneered a unique signature sound that has set them apart from the pack and has fueled the band’s longevity and enduring popularity with a diverse international fan base.

“We have an open-minded, loyal fan base,” said Brad “Daddy” X, who founded the group in 1994. “There are all types of people at a Kottonmouth Kings show – hippies, punkers and hip-hoppers. That’s what’s great about it. You can’t really stereotype it. They’re free-thinking individuals.”

Since leading the charge on the front lines of Southern California’s post-punk and gangsta rap-inspired scene, Kottonmouth Kings have proved their lasting staying power, building on a powerful DIY ethos and redefining the meaning of a self-empowered group. They are an institution in the sub-culture of America, running their own company, touring and releasing albums on their own terms.

KOTTONMOUTH KINGS ANNOUNCE “CLOUD 9” TOUR FEATURING BIG B & THE DIRTBALL
***
KOTTONMOUTH KINGS PAKELIKA OFFICIALLY ENTERS 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

California based hip-hop/punk rock hybrid the Kottonmouth Kings have announced the tour dates for their upcoming “Cloud 9” Tour featuring Big B and The Dirtball.

“We’ve totally revamped the set for this new upcoming Cloud 9 tour and we’re going to dig into some of the classic Kottonmouth tracks and new material. We’re looking forward to the music in front of the people and unifying the underground.”

The tour announcement comes on the heels of Kottonmouth Kings “Cloud 9” debuting on the Billboard 200 at #44 and on the Top Independent charts at #2. Kottonmouth Kings’ “Cloud 9” is also racking up impressive spins at radio with the debut single “City 2 City” featuring Tech N9ne. The song has become one of the most requested tracks at Sirius Satellite Radio, while the video has been viewed over 150,000 times within a month of its release. In a time where the music industry is desperately flailing in a downward spiral and album sales are down across the board, the Kottonmouth Kings popularity continues to thrive and defy odds,
making them a massive independent success story.

While the Kings continue to soar, Las Vegas heavyweight Big B is riding a wave of success with his new release “More To Hate”. The album debuted at #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and outsold high profile releases labels like Vagrant Records, Equal Vision and Victory Records.

Big B’s “More To Hate,” which features guest appearances by Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog, Tech N9ne, Kottonmouth Kings, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Danny Diablo, and Dirtball, is already poised to quickly become the rapper’s biggest release.

The Cloud 9 Tour will also become the campaign trail for Kottonmouth Kings visual assassin Pakelika, who recently announced his bid for the 2008 Presidential election.

“I’ve decided to declare my candidacy for president to make our country truly great again and to uphold the constitution. We the people can solve our issues, which in my opinion are global warming and finding alternative fuels, both of which could be solved by decriminalizing the plant marijuana and hemp,” says the masked member of the Kottonmouth Kings. “We need to establish healthcare that works for everyone and end homelessness and hunger here in America. We also need to end the war on drugs and bring our troops home because they don’t need to be fighting a war based on deception. We need to repair our relationship with the rest of the world and put the soul back in our country to make America a place the world looks up to once again.”

In preparation for Pakelika’s Presidential bid, Suburban Noize Records has partnered with Kadoink technology (www.kadoink.com) to send out messages from the campaign trail and tour directly to fans mobile phones and e-mail. By using the voice and texting features of your mobile phone, Kadoink will enable Pakelika to instantly record and post audio, and interact with the voting public as he blazes the campaign trail across the United States.
