North American Fall Tour Announced (see attached for dates)
“Thomas’ second solo album shows, not for the first time, that he may well be Phil Collins’ heir: a talented, big-time pro with a fine voice and a finer way with hooks” – Rolling Stone
“Thomas returns with a soaring collection of infectious pop songs that are destined for heavy rotation in 2009 and beyond.” – Billboard
“Thomas concocts catchy, melodic Pettyesque tunes with flourishes of calypso, gospel & African rhythms.” – USA Today
“….he’s a first-class craftsman who knows how to bust out the hooks.” – People Magazine
Rob Thomas’ solo debut “…SOMETHING TO BE” made chart history upon its release in April 2005. The collection entered the Billboard 200 album chart at #1, marking the first time that a male artist from a rock or pop group had debuted at #1 with their first solo album since Billboard introduced the chart 50 years earlier. The album – which earned Thomas a pair of Grammy nominations – included a string of hit singles, including the #1 global smash, “Lonely No More,” “This Is How A Heart Breaks,” “Ever The Same,” and “Streetcorner Symphony.” In 2007, Thomas reunited with his bandmates in Matchbox Twenty for the release of “EXILE ON MAINSTREAM.” The group’s first album in five years, the set combined a retrospective of their greatest hits with a six-track EP of new songs produced by Steve Lillywhite – including the RIAA gold single, “How Far We’ve Come.” Debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200, the RIAA gold “EXILE ON MAINSTREAM” scored the biggest first week of the year for a greatest hits collection.
