Quotes:
Venus.zine- 5 out of 5
“The Santa Cruz–based threesome borrows elements of ragtime, country, folk, and rockabilly music and approaches them with a fiery punk rock proclivity, creating a modern but true reflection of vintage American blues.” — Venus Zine (Perfect 5-star rating)

Under the Radar: 7 out of 10
“…like the best bourbon, Do Wrong Right will go down smooth, and then help to steer the rest of your day”

Eastern Surf Mag:
“Punk-tinged, whiskey-fueled, old-timey/bluegrass/ragtime blend from this percussion-less Santa Cruz, CA, trio. Charmingly ragged vocal harmonies and a legendary live show only add to the band’s allure.”

Flavorwire:
“The Devil Makes Three play a tongue-in-cheek form of American roots music, bucking genre conventions with lyrics that trend toward atypical subjects like crack abuse and getting your picture taken with the Four Horsemen.”

Hear Ya:
“The Devil Makes Three has just released the latest chapter of their gypsy-punk-hillbilly-bluegrass-blues gospel in an album called Do Wrong Right. That description is a mouthful, but DM3 is far from ordinary. The drummer-less trio consists of guitarist/frontman Pete Bernhard, stand-up bassist Lucia Turino and guitarist Cooper McBean. Their sound is driven by rhythm and three-part harmonies that beg you to boogie down, even if you aren’t the boogie down type.”

Jambase:
“If we’re going to get through this so-called “New Depression,” we’re going to need some troubadours to sing our survival tales. The Devil Makes Three fit that bill perfectly on latest offering Do Wrong Right (released April 21 on Milan Records), giving voice to those firewater nights that bleed into the horrendous crash of daylight, splitting headaches and tremors before we pick ourselves up to do it all over again.”
