On April 12th 2008, what was once a party in the name of Hip Hop, will become a party in the name of Humanity. “A Vibe Called Fresh “, the monthly concert and dance party produced by local party promoter, DJ, and independent artist Rock Most plans to lend a helping hand to the victims of Atlanta’s recent tornado. “ The very community in which we hold the event was practically demolished by the tornado. It’s only the right thing to do,” he states.
Headlining the show with new material from their new CD release “What It Stand For?” is hip-hop super group EMC. The group consists of Masta Ace (Juice Crew), Wordsworth (MTV’s The Lyricist Lounge Show), Punchline & Stricklin. A Vibe Called Fresh patrons will be able to receive $3 off their $15 admission at the door by donating food, household items (blankets, towels, toiletries), or articles of clothing. “This show couldn’t have come at a better time. Having an international act hopefully translates to more supporting our damaged communities,” says Rock Most who’s own hip hop group MSEIZE will be providing local support along with Senor Kaos of Vintage Imperial. All the donations collected will be distributed to tornado victims in the Cabbagetown and Vine City neighborhoods, the communities most damaged by the storm.
A Vibe Called Fresh takes place every second Saturday of the month @ Lenny’s Bar and is hosted by DJs Rock Most and Fudge of The Vibe Providers and Perfect Blend Entertainment. Lenny’s is located at 486 Decatur St. Atlanta, GA. Advance tickets for the April 12th show may be purchased for $10 online by visiting www.ticketalternative.com.
