FOOL’S GOLD INKS JOINT VENTURE WITH DOWNTOWN MUSIC, PREPS SUMMER OF NEW RELEASES
ß Hot off the heels of Kid Sister’s spectacular rise, Fool’s Gold houses its label within the Downtown infrastructure and creates a new publishing company with the indie giant.

ß Fresh new music from the rising label includes club bangers from Treasure Fingers, Jokers Of The Scene, Kid Cudi, the Fool’s Gold Remixed compilation, and more!

ß Fools Gold praised as an “indie visionary” to watch in Billboard’s first-annual July “Independents’ Day” issue.

ß Free “Mad Fools” party with Mad Decent, featuring Santogold, Diplo, A-Trak, Kid Cudi and friends hits Central Park Summerstage on July 20th.

Following an action-packed spring of sold-out label showcases and festival performances, Fool’s Gold – the trailblazing label founded by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs with a mission to bridge the worlds of hip-hop and electronic music – is proud to announce a joint venture with Downtown Music, along with a string of new singles and artist debuts to last throughout the summer.

“I am very excited to welcome Fool’s Gold to the Downtown family. Fool’s Gold has an amazing ability to identify and develop the most compelling and cutting edge artists across a broad rage of genres and I am certain they will make a significant contribution to our culture. A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs are among the most talented young entrepreneurs in music today and they will help us to redefine the business as we grow our recorded music, publishing and ancillary businesses together. With the Fool’s Gold artist roster and Downtown’s marketing and promotion infrastructure, we are looking forward to an extremely productive partnership.”
- Josh Deutsch, Chairman/CEO of Downtown Music

ATL DJ/producer Treasure Fingers makes his Fool’s Gold debut with Cross The Dancefloor, a vocoder-laced crossover gem backed by remixes from Laidback Luke, Lifelike, and Curses!. Ottawa ravers Jokers Of The Scene come through with the Acid Bagg EP, containing sought-after club anthems “Baggy Bottom Boys,” “Acidrod” and new remixes from Brodinski and Destroy Disco, while Toronto duo Nacho Lovers debut their double A-side “Go On / Acid Life” single, offering a unique take on early house and techno sonics. Bay Area MC and producer Trackademicks’ first single, Enjoy What You Do, is an uptempo, hyphy-inspired jam, backed by remixes from Flosstradamus and Sammy Bananas, and if that’s not enough insane new music to keep track of, Fool’s Gold also has records on the way from Australia’s Bag Raiders, Italian sensations Crookers and Congorock, German clubber Malente, and the long-awaited debut single from electro upstarts LA Riots.

Fool’s Gold is dropping some special DJ treats as well, including Kavinsky’s Blazer, a limited-edition picture disc from the Daft Punk protégé, and the Kid Sister Remixes 12″, featuring production by JFK of MSTFKRFT and Simian Moblie Disco. Brooklyn’s own Sammy Bananas follows up his club hit High Top Fades with more ’90s reworks on the Braids & Fades EP, and Seattle’s Four Color Zack and Pretty Titty reinvent the party record with Sing Sing Breaks, named after their infamous monthly bash.

On the CD tip, look out for A Kid Named Cudi, the hotly anticipated mixtape from Fool’s Gold’s new marquee artist Kid Cudi, whose smash single “Day ‘N’ Nite” has been garnering spins from the BBC’s Annie Mac all the way to Power 106 heavyweight Felli Fel. There will be even more new and exclusive Fool’s Gold gems on Fool’s Gold Remixed, a free compilation released through Scion.

With so much new music on the way, there’s no denying that Fool’s Gold will be providing the soundtrack to every block party, barbershop and Bar Mitzvah throughout the summer!
