Snoop Dogg Steals OSCAR From SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE!

The rags to riches story of friends Jamal and Latika (portrayed by Dev Patel and Frida Pinto), emotionally captured in the critically acclaimed film Slumdog Millionaire, gripped popular culture’s consciousness on its way to garnering eight Academy Awards. Well, the young Mumbai couple aren’t the only ones that managed to brave the struggle to reach fame.

Snoop Dogg just leaked a new song to the Cashmere Agency that he is calling “a wicked appetizer from my new album, MALICE IN WONDERLAND, due this fall.” Inspired by the success of Slumdog Millionaire and its brilliant soundtrack, Snoop teamed up with Tanvi Shah (Oscar winner for Best Original Song, “Jai Ho” from Slumdog Millionaire) to create the song “Snoop Dogg Millionaire”

In creating the groundbreaking song, Snoop, ever a trendsetter, has become the first major American artist to collaborate with the exploding Dub-Step scene. The UK bred electro-infused genre is characterized by its heavy bass, dark sounds and syncopated rhythms.

“Snoop Dogg Millionaire” was produced by Wild Animals and Chase & Status; it also features the Hustle Boyz on the chorus. Los Angeles’ Wild Animals (who have worked with John Legend, Kurupt, and Murs) are one of music’s hottest up and coming production duo. UK based Chase & Status recently released their energetic More Than ALot, which received the Best Album Award at the 2009 Drum and Bass awards in Birmingham, UK and generated three number one singles on the UK Dance Chart.
