Jersey Dynamo Bizz To Shake Things Up on Debut LP ‘Prince of Jersey’ State Property and Q-Parker from 112 lend their support
Jersey is set to make its mark on East Coast hip hop with the release of ‘Prince of Jersey,’ slated to hit shelves on October 27th. Featuring the likes of State Property and Q-Parker from 112, the album is sure to make waves.
The album’s lead single “Ringtone” gets a little help from his mentor, Freeway and has quickly become a fan favorite.
‘Prince of Jersey’ is slated for release on Blakglobe Records, via Colossal Entertainment & Koch Distribution. It features production by former Wu-Tang producer, 4th Disciple, Bunnie Sigler, Saint Man, and Vodka. The album was executive produced by Rhasun Allah of Blakglobe Records and TriNet Entertainment Group.
Bizz fancies himself as a leader of the new guard, saying “ [I’m] the best of my age group – this is a new bred of MC’s – Drake, Kid Cudi, Wale, Asher Roth – I think my music is just as good and even better than those MC’s but I am not getting the shine …I deserve.”
Part of the plan to help Bizz get the accolades he desires is a rather old-school reliance on music videos. So far he has done videos for the tracks “Jersey go hard,” “Okay I’m hot,” “Grind this out,” “Colors,” and “Hustlers Prayer,” with more expected. “We are doing street videos for the people, we ain’t doing million dollar videos with cars, and chains,” he says, “we are in a recession and we are doing something that people can relate to – shine the light more on the song being hot and making good music.”
To keep fans happy until the release of ‘Prince of Jersey,’ Bizz put out a hugely successful mixtape that can be found on Coast2Coastmixtapes.com, “From Now Til I Drop,” which is hosted by DJ Vlad and has already been downloaded a staggering 186,000 times.
The self -titled debut is anticipated to give Jersey hip-hop some long-awaited shine. Bizz says “Jersey rap hasn’t been on the industry radar since Joe Budden’s Def Jam release, which ended up as just a single that got a lot of burn.”
Bizz is not afraid to stir up some controversy, saying that he easily beats Budden for the Jersey heavyweight title. “Joe Budden has fallen off the map altogether, but I’m putting Jersey on the map when it comes to hip hop,” he says, “I’m the new face of Jersey”
Bizz’s Jersey sound has earned him street cred and recognition in this past November’s issue of Hip Hop Weekly’s Next to Blow section.
Next on the plate for Bizz, he has plans to start his own comedy blog where he’ll lament everything from the state of the industry to fashion – “I am way against skinny jeans and tight shirts” grown men should not be wearing girls jeans,” he says only half in jest.
Before then, of course, he’ll first have to fulfill his duties as the ‘Prince of Jersey,” starting October 27, 2009.
