Beans Bio
When asked, “what do you define your music style as”, Beans cannot pinpoint it to just one genre. A dash of rap, a sprinkle of pop, a pinch of rock and a whole lot of swag is the best and only way to describe this young upcoming entertainer straight out of Western Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh to be exact! This young man knows a lot about losing for he lost his mother in 1984 when he was 11 months old to Cancer and most recently he lost his father to the same disease in May of 2009 so it is no wonder this young man is so determined.
At the young age of five, Beans began to venture in the business world working on the local store bus that served the defunct Broadhead Manor and Westgate Village Housing Projects. Itwas there that beans learned the value of a dollar and just how cold the streets can be. Getting used to making money at a very young age can have its pros and cons, Beans constantly fought the temptation of the streets. According to Beans, anyone says they wont until the opprotunity arises, then they find out that they are human, just like the rest of us. He fell victim to the streets and began making money the fast way. “If your the best at what you do people are gonna hate you for no reason” and just like any great empire rises, it also fell. All beans left the streets with was a ticket to the State Prison and a Boot Camp program. While incarserated Beans had alot of time to asses his life and there behind those bars is not where he wanted to spend it. He knew if he could acomplish everything that he had in such a negative way he could defiantly influence in a positive way. Once released Beans began his positive walk toward a new life.
Sticking to his plan , Beans began working for his cousins cleaning company and recording music. Being positive is hard to do when others dont see your vision, major record label meetings didn,t go so well for him beacause they all seemed to say the same thing, “You don’t have what it takes”. Beans is forever grateful to those executives for those six words, “It only added fuel to my fire.” Beans kept recording his music taking meetings and whatever else he could do to get on top. His hard work has attrached the likes of Young La, Gucci Mane, Brisco, E-40, and Rocko. No stranger to the hustling nature of the music industry, Beans set his sights on a new plan. “If they weren’t gonna sign me and the people they signed wanted me, (speaking of the excecutive), then i knew it was only a matter of time. “Got Swag” featuring Rocko has been ripping the airwaves up in the south and the video is schedluded to be televised which was shot by Gabreal Hart of Veiname Flims who has also shot videos for Fat Joe, Rick Ross and numerous other Major label artist. Also, Beans’ next single “Super Hero” the collaboration with Brisco out of Poe Boy Entertainment/Cash Money Records, and Wiz Khalifa of Warner Bros Music/Rostrum Records is sure to shut it down. Not surprisingly, Beans has been in contact with a movie production company and they want him to begin filming, “The Undergrad”, in which he plays the lead role of Benny. The Undergrad is expected to hit the big screen in the first half of 2010.
Currently in the works of putting together a major label deal, Highway Music; Beans, whose real name is James Johns, has been making severl appearances; including a 2009 college tour with artist Warner Bros recording artist Wiz Khalifia. Beans has numerous endorsment deals and has in the makings his own chlothing line; Beans has also been playing various date across the US Jam packing clubs to capacity.
