Ultra Music Celebrates Several Year-End Chart Placements,
Highest Charting Ringtone Ever, First-Ever Platinum® Award

New York, NY – Ultra Music is thrilled to announce that Pitbull’s smash hit single “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” has been certified Double Platinum® in the U.S. for sales exceeding 2,000,000 units. This marks Pitbull’s highest-selling single ever, and Ultra Music’s first-ever Double Platinum® certification, rounding out a year full of milestone achievements.

In the U.S., Ultra Music has been named 2009’s #1 Hot Dance Airplay Label and #1 Hot Dance Airplay Imprint by Billboard Magazine. Pitbull’s hit song – which peaked at #2 on Billboard’s U.S. Hot 100 chart – placed on a total of 13 year end charts, and ranked in the Top 20 for Hot Dance Singles Sales (#4), Latin Rhythm Songs (#8), Rhythmic (#11), Hot 100 Singles Airplay (#16), Hot 100 (#17), Latin Pop Songs (#17), Hot Rap Songs (#18), Hot Singles Sales (#19), Hot Latin Songs (#20).

The ringtone of “I Know You Want Me” peaked on Ringscan at #6 in June, making it the highest charting ringtone for Ultra, with over 370,000 ringtones sold.

The music video for “I Know You Want Me” proved to be just as popular as the song: with over 82 million views, it was YouTube’s #1 music video globally of 2009, and dominated the playlists of such cable music video outlets as MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams and FUSE. The video can also be seen on Ultra Music’s popular YouTube channel, which peaked this month as YouTube’s #5 Musician Channel overall with nearly 270 million views.

In Canada, Ultra Music was the first independent label in over 10 years to have a #1 hit on the Canadian Top 40 with “I Know You Want Me,” which peaked at #1 on the Mediabase and BDS CHR charts for four weeks (6/26-7/17). Billboard also ranked Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me” as Canada’s #2 single of the year on the CHR/Top 40 chart, as well as the #7 Hot 100 song and #7 Hot Digital song of the year. The Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) recently certified the single Triple Platinum® for sales exceeding 120,000 units.

Significant airplay achievements in Canada placed Ultra Music in the Top 10 of the overall, Top 40, and Hot AC rankings of Mediabase’s 2009 Label Shares, and as the country’s #11 label overall and the #17 imprint for 2009 according to Billboard.
