ANGUS AND JULIA STONE ANNOUNCE NEW TOUR DATES: WEST COAST TOUR WITH BRETT DENNEN KICKS OFF IN VANCOUVER TODAY!

A BOOK LIKE THIS BREAKS INTO ITUNES TOP 100 ALBUMS AND DEBUTS AT #75 ON THE BILLBOARD HEATSEEKERS CHART; HITS #1 ON THE ITUNES SINGER/ SONGWRITER CHART

BAND MAKES FIRST APPEARANCE ON KCRW’S MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC AND WILL MAKE SXSW DEBUT AS PART OF KCRW’S OFFICIAL SHOWCASE

March 12, 2009 (New York, NY) – Just over a week from the release of ANGUS AND JULIA STONE’s debut, A BOOK LIKE THIS, the Aussie bro/sis pair have announced more tour dates following their west coast tour with Brett Dennen, which kicks off today, Thursday, March 12 in Vancouver. The bewitching duo will take their live show to the east coast and Midwest, beginning April 8 in New York.

A Book Like This, which came out March 3, was featured in the iTunes Indie Spotlight, broke into iTunes Top 100 Albums and held steady as the #1 singer/songwriter for a week. It also landed on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #75. Co-produced by fan and friend Fran Healy, lead singer of Travis, A Book Like This is a collection of 13 heartfelt, organic and strikingly poignant recordings that immediately draw listeners into the simple and endearing vision of the duo’s world.

Angus and Julia stone will performed for the first time on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on March 9, and will take a quick break from the Brett Dennen dates to make their SXSW debut as part of the KCRW Official Showcase, alongside artists such as Ida Maria and School of Seven Bells.

The pair has been capturing the hearts of critics across the country; they are featured in the current issues of Paste Magazine (“Emergent: Best of What’s Next”), Glamour (“March Must-Do”) and Venus Zine. They have also been featured all over the web, including album reviews, mp3 features and music video features on sites like Idolator, RCRD LBL, Slide.com (video feature on FunSpace) and many more.

In a recent review, Filter said:”[A Book Like This] flickers with the prospects of two talented musicians who work together wonderfully…the two maintain individual identities despite the close collaboration, and as much as one voice differs from the other — hers, a worthy and eccentric amalgamation of Newsom and Bjork, and his, a lasting crisp and clear spark — in the moments they meld together, it’s easy to forget everything you know about sibling rivalry.”
