SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINING US TOUR WITH BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW, MTV2 SUBTERRANEAN PREMIERE FOR “HALF ASLEEP” VIDEO, CONTINUE WORLD TOUR

Brooklyn three-piece School of Seven Bells (Benjamin Curtis from the Secret Machines and the twin Deheza sisters from On! Air! Library!) are pleased to announce their upcoming co-headlining US tour with experimental psych-band, Black Moth Super Rainbow. The Bells have spent the first half of the year on a world tour, and just performed a set of five highly-celebrated performances at SXSW. Entertainment Weekly called it, “…a sound that could just as easily put you in a reflective trance or make you dance for your life, and the Dallas Observer called the Bells, “quite alluring…incredibly interesting.”

School of Seven Bells’ Ghostly International full-length debut, Alpinisms, has received critical acclaim across the globe. The band was recently featured in SPIN, and in a recent Rolling Stone cover story on U2, The Edge sites School of Seven Bells’ sound as an influence on No Line On The Horizon’s droning tribal side. The New York Times called the Bells, “a promising blend of the psychedelic and the futuristic,” David Fricke at Rolling Stone said, “the effect is warm goth – New Order with more eros,” and PItchfork Media called it, “a reverberating march of twinkling effects, glitchy Bjorkian rhythms, and insistently echoed drones of womanly harmonies.”

The Bells’ video for “Half Asleep” premiered on MTV2 Subterranean and Pitchfork TV, has been airing on MTVU, and was featured on the front page of YouTube earlier this month. Ghostly International will be releasing a new 12″ single “My Cabal” with remixes from Jesu and Seefeel on May 19th, following the recent release of School of Seven Bells’ single for “Iamundernodisguise” on 7″ vinyl and digital download, and Alpinisms on 180-gram limited edition vinyl.

School of Seven Bells is currently on a UK tour with Bat For Lashes, will be heading to Australia for the rest of April and touring the UK once more with White Lies before making their return to the states with Black Moth Super Rainbow in May/June. The band will also be performing at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in the UK, the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan, and the Sasquatch Festival in Seattle, WA.

TROUBLE ANDREW ANNOUNCES LIVE DATES, TOUR WITH SANTOGOLD

Here Comes Trouble!

TROUBLE ANDREW ANNOUNCES LIVE DATES, TOUR WITH SANTOGOLD

With a brand new album for Virgin Records on the way, Trouble Andrew will launch a blitz of tour dates this spring in support of his re-released, self-titled independent debut “Trouble Andrew” followed by a nationwide summer tour.

Trouble begins his takeover at Irvine’s Bamboozle Left April 5-on a bill featuring headliners 50 Cent, Deftones and Taking Back Sunday. He immediately joins Santogold in San Francisco for a coast-to-coast romp.

Like most born rock stars, Trouble has always been a rebel. Embracing his passion, he dropped out of high school at 15 to live his dream of becoming a professional snowboarder-literally a (half) pipe dream for a kid coming from relatively flat Nova Scotia. He’s no stranger to the rock star life of winning contests, signing endorsement deals (Burton Snowboards and Oakley to name a few), and gaining rabid fans around the world.

Trouble has inspired a generation of snowboard kids with his original freestyle riding and unique, signature snowboards and outerwear that have always represented the skateboarding, punk rock, hip-hop, and pop influences of his youth. Trouble’s music paints a similar portrait with strokes of dark pummeling bass and synths, sk8rock guitar riffs and witty, sexually charged lyrics. It’s the musical equivalent of a dizzying McTwist, followed by a perfect landing. Pure ice cold rock n’ roll.

Recorded within shouting distance of British Columbia’s legendary Whistler, in a house with a skate ramp out back, Trouble Andrew’s independent debut (later released by Virgin Records) is an intriguing, unclassifiable blend of electro sounds, hip-hop beats and punk attitude. Trouble Andrew’s next outing, the first recorded specifically for Virgin Records, is promising, to say the least.

BARENAKED LADIES TAKE HOME JUNO FOR “CHILDREN’S ALBUM OF THE YEAR” FOR THEIR 2008 ORIGINAL KIDS’ ALBUM SNACKTIME SNACKTIME GOES GOLD IN CANADA

HITS OVER 70,000 DOWNLOADS IN ONE WEEK

Nettwerk Music Group would like to send a big congratulations to multi-platinum recording artist BARENAKED LADIES, who took home the JUNO for “Children’s Album of the Year” this past weekend for their debut original kid’s album Snacktime, which just achieved Gold status in Canada as well. To kick off the weekend activities, BNL played a special show at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver on Friday for about 100 children and staff.

Says lead vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson of the win, “We are really proud of this JUNO. We put our hearts and souls into this record, and to be recognized for it is a great feeling.” Vocalist/keyboardist Kevin Hearn adds, “Between writing songs and providing drawings for the album artwork, I have never had so much fun making a record. We wanted to make a record that both kids and parents alike could enjoy, and I feel like we did that. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the win.”

Snacktime, which was produced and mixed by Michael Phillip Wojewoda (who also worked with the band on their debut Gordon), is composed of 24 tracks, including such titles as “Pollywog in Bog,” “Popcorn” and “Here Come The Geese.” With 11 children ranging from three months to 12 years old among them, the band was never at a lack of inspiration or imagination. Additionally, the title track includes guest appearances from celebrities/musicians like Geddy Lee, Lyle Lovett, Jason Priestly, Sarah McLachlan, Gordon Lightfoot and more.

Barenaked Ladies have started to work on their new album celebrating 20 years together. The band, who recently parted ways with band co-founder Steven Page, played their first show as a foursome in Orlando a few weeks ago. In the true BNL fashion of constantly keeping their fans connected, they made the live audio available for free download for 10 days on their website. In those 10 days, the performance was downloaded over 70,000 times (it is now available for purchase on the band’s website).

MY FAVORITE HIGHWAY EMERGES AS A BREAKOUT BAND HOW TO CALL A BLUFF HITS STREETS ON MAY 5TH, 2009

Performing At The Bamboozle In East Rutherford, NJ On May 3rd

National Tour With Danger Radio And Skyline Stereo Kicks Off May 5th

(New York, NY – April 1, 2009) – Virgin Records pop-rock quartet MY FAVORITE HIGHWAY is clearly kicking into top gear — online, on stage, in several of cable television’s most popular series, and in digital sales. The band’s debut album, HOW TO CALL A BLUFF, is set to be released on May 5th 2009.

All signs point to a major take-off in progress for the suburban Washington, DC-based group, comprised of David Cook (vocals, piano, guitar), Will Cook (bass), Bobby Morgenthaler (drums), Pat Jenkins (guitar, vocals), as several tracks from their album make noise, attracting fans to My Favorite Highway’s outposts on the web and drawing a mention in Alternative Press’ 100 Bands To Watch in 2009 issue. The band will make an appearance on May 3rd at The Bamboozle festival in East Rutherford, NJ and start a national tour with Danger Radio and Skyline Stereo on May 5th in Watertown, NY (full schedule below). They will also play a very special hometown show in Vienna, VA on April 7th to perform the new album in its entirety.

Tying together HOW TO CALL A BLUFF is the band’s sensitive lyricism, and a unique balance of the anthemic and the intimate; ringing guitar and piano form a wall of vibrant sound in a production that’s always impressively polished but never overdressed. The album was released independently by the band last year, selling several thousand copies on iTunes and at tour dates. It has been remastered entirely in its Virgin edition, with two new tracks added and bonus content including acoustic versions of songs, exclusive videos and pictures, access to special websites and contests, and pre-order packages, with exclusive merchandise.

On the album, “Steel City,” “Dreamer,” “The Chase” and “Bittersweet Life” all reveal the group’s knack for songs that can touch every listener and pass into classic status. “Bittersweet Life” was featured on an episode of MTV’s The Hills, and immediately spiked in weekly download sales. Similarly, “Bigger Than Love” which has generated over 800,000 Myspace.com streams out of a total 5.2 million song plays on the band’s page, also witnessed a big spike in digital sales after it was featured during The Hills season finale. The band has sold over 100,000 individual digital tracks to date.

In an album full of standouts, “What Are You Waiting For” (the trailer song for MTV’s The City), “Say So” and “Getaway Car” display the band’s clean, snappy, angular production values; “Simple Life” is a sunny shuffle with real guitar muscle; while “Go” and “Entertain the Pain” both convey urgency without a tortured edge.

Clearly, America is ready to follow the on-ramp to MY FAVORITE HIGHWAY. HOW TO CALL A BLUFF was produced by Paul Barber, and was mixed by Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Lifehouse, OAR).

Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album It’s Blitz

YEAH YEAH YEAHS RELEASE NEW ALBUM IT’S BLITZ!

Heads Into April with Coachella Show and National TV Snakesweat: Black Widow Video Now Available

New York…Get Get Get your dance on – the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are back back back with It’s Blitz! The band’s third album proper is out tomorrow, March 31, and heads are rolling.

Rolling Stone gives It’s Blitz! 4 stars! Q magazine one-ups them and goes for an all-out 5 outta 5! Spin magazine suffices to say It’s Blitz! is simply “the alternative pop album of the decade.”

NME concurs: “It’s Blitz! is a heartfelt love letter to the transcendent possibilities of the dance floor, an unexpectedly emphatic reassertion of why Yeah Yeah Yeahs are one of the most exciting bands of this decade,” they re-affirm. “Better than that, they know how to ‘shake it like a ladder to the sun’.”

It’s true! Yeah Yeah Yeahs don’t want to drown you in the stars and the praise, – they want to drown you in dance! And shake it to the mountains dancing dollface, because Yeah Yeah Yeahs announce their first 2009 US date Sunday, April 19,th at Coachella!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ incendiary live shows are the stuff of legend. Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase mean it bad as they strut both rock disco explosions and ballsy ballads that cut both sides of your emotional heart.

If you can’t wait – and you would be a fool to wait – catch their sexy tease performing the hit single “Zero” April 14 on Late Show with David Letterman. When that leaves you breathless tune in the next eve April 15 to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

And Yeah Yeah Yeahs give and give and give yes they do yes they love you. See simultaneous with Tuesday’s release the band also serves up the third in the installment of their Snakesweat Trilogy Videos: This time it’s Karen O’s joint entitled “The Black Widow.” Don’t be in the dark catch it on the band’s website and watch all three SNAKESWEAT videos on their YouTube channel including Zinner and Chase’s teasers “The Scientist” and “The Philosopher.” “The return of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, perhaps the only noughties New York band who’ve not only managed to keep their credibility and cool but have also managed to keep on developing into the-band-of-a-generation.”muses Drowned in Sound. Karen O laments, “We are super psyched about the hard copy release-holy sh-t! It’s really really OUT!” So go! Hurry! March 31 is release day! It’s Blitz!

ANGEL TAYLOR Single of the Week & Digital Album Release Today

ANGEL TAYLOR Single of the Week & Digital Album Release Today

Aware Records and Columbia Records are proud to announce that Angel Taylor’s debut album Love Travels is released digitally today, March 31st, on iTunes for the next two weeks. “Make Me Believe”, a single off of Love Travels is also featured as Single of The Week on iTunes!

Angel Taylor, one of New York Post’s “6 Who’ll Sizzle” in 2009 and Billboard Magazine’s “Faces To Watch” is currently on tour with Gavin DeGraw. She will hit the road again in mid-April with Brandi Carlile and late-April with Kate Voegle (complete list of tour dates below).

Love Travels was produced by Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat). On her debut album, the 20 year-old singer-songwriter is quick to share stories about her inspirations, but those stories fast become secondary to the true magic of her talent as a songwriter: The 12 tracks on Love Travels are more than just personal missives that Angel Taylor has set to music, they are living and breathing experiences that we have all shared.

Billboard magazine proclaims, “Taylor sings of love lost, found and unrequited… she manages to toe the line between believing in true romance and giving up all hope.”

A passionate blend of youthful innocence, soulful essence and a spiritual center, Angel Taylor is every bit as wholesome and pure as her Love Travels debut.

Aaron Barnhart – Missing Pieces album available May 26th

Bonded Records is proud to present Aaron Barnhart’s Missing Pieces album available on May 26th, produced by Stuart Brawley (Josh Groban, Michael Jackson, Don Henley).

Day In Day Out” (first single) audio stream

Bonded Records/Fontana/Universal Music Group, has officially announced the street date of the Aaron Barnhart debut album, MISSING PIECES, which will be released on May 26, 2009 and his single, DAY IN DAY OUT, which will be released nationwide USA, March 23rd, 2009.

The irresistible new single, DAY IN DAY OUT is released in the USA on March 23rd, 2009 through Bonded Records/Fontana/Universal Music Group. DAY IN DAY OUT is one of those rare pop songs that rounds-the-corner every once in a while and is instantly memorable. The debut album, MISSING PIECES, was as Aaron says, “a collection of songs that are a deep part of me and very close to my heart….”

In between shows and throughout the past twelve months, Aaron Barnhart set out to make an album that captured his sexy and powerful live sound. Being a purveyor of soulful music, he wrote MISSING PIECES to express his unique vision while maintaining a sound and feel that is universally appealing.

The album was recorded in Los Angeles over a 12-month period with renowned producer Stuart Brawley [who has over 32 million records sold worldwide, with such artists’ as Michael Jackson, Don Henley, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Brandy, Avion, Lenka, and nominated for “Producer of the Year” at the Juno Awards]. The 10 tracks on the album showcase Aaron’s incredible musical range. Most of the songs on MISSING PIECES came to life with Aaron writing melodies and lyrics while performing for local Los Angeles crowds.

While recording MISSING PIECES, Brett Tuggle, Musician/Fleetwood Mac shared “I recently had the opportunity to hear a new artist named Aaron Barnhart. I was impressed by his talents as a singer/songwriter and musician. Aaron has that unique gift to be able to write a good song and deliver a vocal performance that is real and exciting to listen to. I believe Aaron has “the goods” to be a lasting force in music. Put on his new CD Missing Pieces, sit back and enjoy the ride…” Aaron recently helped Fleetwood Mac prepare for their upcoming tour and played auxiliary keyboards with the band.

With the announcement of the release date for Aaron Barnhart also comes confirmation of something that had been rumored in recent weeks: Aaron Barnhart is preparing for a series of live performances, coast to coast in the States, to accompany his new album.

Bonded Records CEO David McKenna in a recent interview, discussed MISSING PIECES, “This record is a true developing artist story. I am confident in its ability to stand out from the thousands of other new releases this year. From an incredible human being, we have an album here that has hits, and production unlike most independent label releases.”

Black Lips – I’ll Be With You video

Amidst the frenzy drummed up from their on-stage collabos with Wu Tang impresario GZA at SXSW earlier this month, The Black Lips have premiered a brand new video for “I’ll Be With You,” another standout from their latest Vice Records offering, 200 Million Thousand. Premiered last week on MTV2’s Subterranean, you can currently catch footage from the show and some extras over at their blog. Need more? There’s the Bandstand Busking performance of the song from the Lips’ stop in London earlier this year.
