The Raveonettes Release In And Out Of Control

Today, The Raveonettes have released In And Out Of Control, the second Vice LP, and fourth overall, from Denmark’s royal couple of melancholic pop. The Thomas Troelsen produced song cycle has already been greeted with a cavalcade of pre-release praise, and is sure to meet the expectations of fans, who’ve been involved in the album’s process since the band opened up recording sessions to devotees in June. The album’s lean 11 tracks are the perfect balance of the band’s terse guitar rock, the noisier elements of Lust Lust Lust, and a new-fangled appreciation for sugary choruses and unforgettably sweet melodies.

“Chilly, disturbing lyrics emerge from a dense fog of blissful Spector harmonies and Jesus and Mary Chain surf and strings.” -SPIN

A perfect contrast of lighthearted melodies and dark lyrical themes. The only thing they can be accused of changing this time around is that they’ve made an even better record.” -SOMA

“Consistently making strong albums…their forthcoming In and Out of Control may be their best to date.” – NEW YORK MAGAZINE

At iTunes, In And Out Of Control is bundled with a digital booklet, an exclusive track called “Echoes,” and a 20-minute video called The Chelsea Session, which features Raves Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo discussing and playing through their five favorite tracks from the album. The band also has something in store for their physical-adoring fans, who can go to and find an indie record store near them and with purchase of In And Out Of Control receive a bonus CD with two exclusive tracks, “Planes Do Crash” and “The Chosen One.”

Continuing their crusade to offer fans as much unfettered access to their music as possible, The Raveonettes have launched, where fans can watch, listen and share any of the content associated with the album on the web or on their mobile device. That means a full stream, MP3s, music videos, Chelsea Session snippets, behind the scenes footage, and more. Until now, some of what you see on the site was only available on the portal the band launched in June during the recording of the album. The Raveonettes will continue to add music, videos and exclusives over the coming months.
