VOLBEAT SIGNS WITH PRIMARY WAVE TALENT MANAGEMENT FOR NORTH AMERICAN REPRESENTATION

VOLBEAT SIGNS WITH PRIMARY WAVE TALENT MANAGEMENT FOR NORTH AMERICAN REPRESENTATION

New York — Danish metal quartet Volbeat has entered in to a formal agreement with Primary Wave Talent Management. The company will serve as representation for the band in North America.

Since the Danish metal quartet’s formation in October, 2001, VOLBEAT has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene. In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice. They recently entered in to a licensing agreement with Universal Germany, following significant success with Netherlands-based independent label Mascot Records. The working title for their fourth studio album is Beyond Hell – Above Heaven, with a planned release scheduled for September 6, 2010. All three of the band’s prior releases from Mascot Records have been certified gold in Denmark, while Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008) and The Strength / The Sound / The Songs (2005) achieved platinum sales. Most recently the band toured North America as support for Metallica, adding a sold-out headline Los Angeles show to the itinerary at the Troubadour. Volbeat is Michael Poulsen (Vocals / Guitar), Anders Kjølholm (Bass), Jon Larsen (Drums) and Thomas Bredahl (Guitar).

Primary Wave Talent Management’s Rick Smith shared,”Volbeat makes me wonder if Glen Danzig grew up in the 50’s or if Chet Atkins was in Megadeth, would it hold a candle to the repertoire this band has delivered. It is fresh and we could not be more thrilled to be a part of their career.” His partner Scott Frazier added, “All bands draw influences from other artists, but few can capture those influences and deliver a sound that is fresh and truly their own like Volbeat. I was drawn to the band’s music first and foremost, but after seeing what these guys do live, that sealed it for me personally. We look forward to sharing with North America what the rest of the world has already discovered.” Volbeat singer Michael Poulsen offers, “We couldn’t be happier about the signing with Primary Wave Talent Management! From early on we realized that this was the management we wanted to partner with. We felt like they understood our vision and on top they’re cool dudes. We’re very excited about the collaboration with our new North American management, and are indeed looking forward to take Northern America by storm!”

Future plans for the band’s return to the U.S. will be announced once formalized.

In The Wooded Forest, Savoir Adore’s debut, is an impressive foray showcasing Deidre Muro and Paul Hammer’s songwriting abilities with intricate rhythms, layers of sound and a multitude of instruments. They have come into their own and are ready for you to discover them.

The launch of the Cake Shop residency presents a special opportunity for both Savoir Adore and French Horn Rebellion, who work closely together in and out of the studio. Since Savoir’s Deidre is featured on vocals on some beloved French Horn Rebellion tunes, you can expect her taking hold of the mic for both FHR’s new single “Beaches and Friends” (currently getting a lot of love on BBC1), as well as their last single “Up All Night”. Paul drums for French Horn Rebellion, and David Perlick-Molinari (from French Horn Rebellion) plays in Savoir Adore’s live line-up. Obviously, the Savior Adore residency will be a special treat for fans of both bands!

The band is currently crafting their own video for live favorite”Bodies”, the fashionable tune seeing love from the likes of Marc Jacobs and Urban Outfitters. Dates will soon be announced as they embark on a US tour this March in selected markets with friends Mon Khmer before hitting up SXSW.

About Savoir Adore

Savoir Adore are a fantasy-pop collective, painting songs with imagery and imagination while making fans out of the most cynical of critics. Theirs is a refreshing tale from anything and everything we’ve experienced lately. Savoir Adore principal members Paul Hammer and Deidre Muro never had intentions of recording tracks to be thrown into the blogosphere or gaining major A&R attention, and as their MySpace page states, “Savoir Adore is an accident”. Just for fun, the two multi-instrumentalist songwriters decided to collaborate after two years of catching each other’s solo performances. Challenging themselves in the studio, the duo “formed a basis of experimentation that became the primal essence of Savoir Adore.” Combining inspirations drawn from sounds, atmospheres, classic songwriting and technology, their instinctive approach has earned Savoir Adore’s songs the tag “magical” by the likes of NPR.

After keeping their nose to the grindstone by playing a multitude of shows in 2009 and most recently to a packed out Mercury Lounge on 1/14, pieces began to fall into place as fans and press have gradually been won over. The September Cantora Records issue of their full-length debut album, In The Wooded Forest, created further buzz and steadily the enthusiasts have followed. In the words of WOXY: “Sometimes demos and promo disc pile on the desk can be intimidating, and this band was on my ‘must listen to’ stack a few times and somehow never registered, so we’re late on this Brooklyn four-piece, but right on time in my book. Their full-length, ‘In The Wooded Forest’ is superb.” It’s always the right time to find the bliss-in-music of Savoir Adore.

“Magical” – NPR

“One of 8 NYC Bands You Need To Hear” L Magazine

“If you’ve never heard of Savoir Adore, you will. As long as the Almighty God of Indie Rock is a just and righteous god, the pop rock quartet headed by co-songwriters Paul Hammer and Deidre Muro is fixin’ to explode.” – Free Williamsburg

“Their songwriting now seems inspired by the musical chemistry Muro and Hammer had upon meeting; it is a chemistry which is kicking and stronger than ever.” – Obscure Sound

The Go Find – It’s Automatic video

I wanted to share the brand new video from electro-pop artist The Go Find for the song, “It’s Automatic,” off their third album, Everybody Knows It’s Gonna Happen, Only Not Tonight, coming out on Morr Music on Feb. 16th.

You may recognize the colorful mountainous setting as the one from their album cover (below) — it seems they prefer hanging out in this 2-dimensional world with fake birds, clouds and confetti. Sounds pretty good to me!

Stereogum premiered the video for “It’s Automatic,” calling “Belgian electro-pop whisperer Dieter Sermeus and his Go Find’s [music]…appealingly familiar.”

Check it out and feel free to post it or request a copy of the album if you like it!

Memory (taken from the DVD, “Frozen in the Moment – Live in Atlanta”)

Snowfall on Judgment Day was released in October 2009 and has received rave critical reviews (from BWBK to Keyboard magazine and more) and has been featured on AOL NoiseCreep and Sirius-XM Satellite Radio, both firsts for REDEMPTION. It is the band’s fastest selling CD to date.

Throughout spring 2009 the band finalized Snowfall On Judgment Day, which was mixed by well-known producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn Lande, Hatesphere). The album features a more mature songwriting than ever before and shows the band taking several steps beyond the quality of their previous output, and standing out from the rest of the crowd in the progressive metal scene with their unique brand of heavy, melodic and emotionally powerful music. The legendary James Labrie (Dream Theater) also performs a duet guest vocal spot on the song “Another Day Dies.”

REDEMPTION has clearly delivered their best album to date – an album that will stand as a benchmark for progressive metal for years to come.

SXSW NEWS: Bigbang Added to SXSW, NX35 Lineups

Bigbang added to SXSW and NX35

“Norway’s Greatest Live Band” Bigbang has been added to the lineups at SXSW in Austin, TX this March 17 – 21 and at NX35 in Denton TX, March 11-14.

“Featuring material from the band’s… album Edendale, the band proved itself in sonic touch with classic acts like Cream and Neil Young & Crazy Horse while also tapping into the same modern-day current that flows through new heroes like Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket. The band’s songs are as compelling as its stage presence…” – Robert Kinsler, OC Register (report from NAMM live set)

Bigbang has been dubbed “Norway’s Greatest Live Band” and is major force in the Norwegian music scene. During the past two years, the band has spent time focusing on the American market. Based in Southern California, they criss-crossed the country playing intimate gigs and promoting their North American debut, 2008’s From Acid to Zen.

The band’s new CD Edendale (Oglio Records/Grand Sport Records), released January 19, has strong ties to Bigbang’s adopted home. Front man and founder Øystein Greni explains: “The area of Los Angeles today known as Echo Park/Silverlake used to be called Edendale around the time when the silent movie industry took off. Charlie Chaplin’s studio -now a storage place – is on my block, and Walt Disney’s first film studio was across the street from the local Trader Joes. In Europe we tend to romanticize things and people from the past; here it’s all about moving on to the next project.”

Released internationally last year to stellar sales, the Stateside version of Edendale includes three new exclusive tracks and was co-produced at Los Angeles’ legendary Sound City Studios by Bigbang’s founder Øystein Greni and Greg Richling (Wallflowers and Black Flag).

NX35 is a walkable, 4-day music conference programmed in Courthouse Square at the heart of Denton, Texas’ central business district. Bigbang joins a lineup of more than 120 bands set to play, including Flaming Lips, Midlake and The Black Angels; and a discussion with legendary producer/musician/journalist Steve Albini. For $65, patrons can get a NX35 All-Access Cloth Wristband that grants entry to all NX35 daytime and nighttime programming. A Single Night All-Venue Tyvek Wristband costs $20. Wristbands are now on sale for the NX35 Music Conference at nx35.com.

SXSW nighttime showcases and daytime parties are still being locked down, be sure to keep an eye out for performance dates and times not only for Bigbang, but for Dengue Fever, The 88 and Mumiy Troll as well.

NICE NICE SIGNS TO WARP, RELEASES NEW LP ‘EXTRA WOW’, ANNOUNCES WEST COAST TOUR DATES, AND DEBUTS VIDEO

PORTLAND’S NICE NICE SIGN TO WARP RECORDS

RELEASES NEW LP ‘EXTRA WOW’ ON APRIL 6, 2010

ANNOUNCE WEST COAST TOUR DATES

Extra Wow is an extremely apt title for an album that presents itself as a constantly unfolding collection of kaleidoscopic musical sediments. Each song effectively builds on the one before it to create the effect of an album-length crescendo that encompasses everything from forward-reaching psychedelia and neo-primitive electronic experiments to dub rhythms and learned lessons from the pillars of krautrock. From the acid-punk opening of “One Hit” it’s apparent that establishing your equilibrium within the world of Nice Nice will not be easy.

Nice Nice is from Portland, Oregon. Jason Buehler and Mark Shirazi have been using their guitars, drums, voices, electronics and lots of other stuff to create their “post-everything modern music” for nearly a decade. By playing countless kinetic live shows around the US, they’ve honed their unorthodox craft.

When these crashing waves of ecstatic sound wash over, it may be more tempting to visualize a radiating sun falling past a vast oceanic horizon – rather than the robust, unending foliage of America’s Pacific Northwest. However, to truly explore the layers of distortion, rhythm and electronic shamanism within, it’s paramount to return to the home of those channeling it.

“We have listened to and played a lot of noisy/experimental music and rhythmic/tribal music and komische/motorik influenced music but, honestly, we have listened to and tried to play just about every style of music that we have come across. We are complete musical omnivores and love a really wide range of styles and sounds without shame- too much music to possibly list.”

With precision motorik propulsion and synesthesistic textures, tracks like “Everything Falling Apart” and “A Vibration” drive Extra Wow along at a pace that demands a commitment from the listener. A rewarding and mindbending journey, this album should be the first step in building a legion of fans for these future heroes.

BAND WILL PERFORM ON THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN
FEBRUARY 17TH, ALSO THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON

FEBURARY LA AND NYC SHOWS SOLD OUT A MONTH IN ADVANCE

New York, NY – London’s latest indie rock sensation MUMFORD & SONS announce the new, earlier release date of their much-anticipated, critically-acclaimed debut Sigh No More. The album will be released February 16th in the US on Glassnote Records.

In conjunction with the new release date, the band will perform their single “Little Lion Man” on February 17th on The Late Show with David Letterman. There will also be an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (air date TBA.) The song has been hailed as “the hottest record in the world” by DJ Zane Lowe from the UK’s influential Radio 1, and the band has been nominated in the “Best New Artist” category at the NME Awards. Furthermore, the album, Sigh No More is gold in both the UK and in Australia.

The band has several US tour dates scheduled; both the February 9th show at Los Angeles’ Troubadour and the February 18th show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom sold out more than a month in advance. The band will return to the US for more shows in the spring.

MUMFORD & SONS gutsy, banjo-driven, old-time sound marries the magic of Crosby, Stills & Nash with the might of Kings of Leon and the harmonies of Fleet Foxes. Sigh No More was recently released in the UK to critical accolades. The album debuted in the UK iTunes Top 10 and is being lauded by tastemaker publications such as NME (“A band who know they’re onto something not just good, but spectacular”) and Q Magazine (“A record that swings from arresting fragility to hearty dynamics.”) The album was recorded at Eastcote Studios, where Arctic Monkeys, Brian Eno, Tindersticks and Laura Marling all honed their sound. The band teamed with producer Markus Dravs who has worked with such superstar acts as Arcade Fire, Bjork and Peter Gabriel.

Since their inception in 2007, MUMFORD & SONS have self-produced three EPs and toured the UK extensively, bringing their rootsy rock across the country. The band recently wrapped a handful of well-received performances during the annual CMJ Music Marathon in New York, which left TIME OUT NY to comment, “The Brit combo has a spine-tingling way with harmony.”
