Bringing Their Musical Mayhem

On A North American US Tour!

“Tea With Cinnamon” MP3 Premiered on SPIN.com!

“… like a Norwegian version of the B-52’s, pounding a beat and chirping random phrases in unison… There was no telling what they’d do next, except that it was sure to be deft and charming.”

– The New York Times

“Four ladies who thrash banjos, pluck fiddles, and bang marching drums, garbage cans, and cookie jars (!) like Appalachian witches drunk on White Lightning.”

– Spin.com

“… Katzenjammer skillfully fuse the girlish charm of the Ditty Bops and the dark vaudeville vampings of Dresden Dolls with the frenetic gypsy folk energy of Gogol Bordello.”

– Venuszine

Norwegian all-female foursome Katzenjammer are set to release their debut album Le Pop, June 29 on Nettwerk Records. The quartet first stormed the States with their circus of a live show in Austin at SXSW last year. Their raucous sets include a rotation of up to 29 instruments on which that the four women are self-taught, including the tuba, the balalaika bass, drums, harmonica, piano, banjo, accordion, mandolin, guitar, melodica and trumpet. Katzenjammer also caught the attention of David Byrne, who invited them to open his artist-curated stage at 2009’s Bonnaroo, alongside Santigold, the Dirty Projectors, Dave Byrne and Brian Eno, later ending their US run with a stop at Summerfest opening for Elvis Costello.

Le Pop, which was produced by Kåre Westrheim and Mike Hartung (Marit Larsen, Superfamily), showcases the ladies eclectic blend of genre influences. The album earned Katzenjammer a nomination for “Newcomer of the Year” at the Norwegian Grammy Awards, but also the distinct honor of opening the show with their hit single “A Bar In Amsterdam.”

Katzenjammer, which consists of Solveig Heilo, Anne Marit Bergheim, Turid Jørgensen and Marianne Sveen will kick off a US Tour this June in addition to joining the 2010 Lilith Tour, along with artists like Sarah McLachlan, Mary J. Bilge, Norah Jones, Loretta Lynn, Sugarland, Metric, Sia and more!

The eagerly anticipated second album Hold Me Down to be released on June 22nd via Virgin Records

The eagerly anticipated second album Hold Me Down to be released on June 22nd via Virgin Records

You Me At Six look set to cement their rise from underground heroes to mainstream success with the June 22nd release of their second album Hold Me Down via Virgin Records. Debuting at #5 in the UK, Hold Me Down is the follow up to their 2008 debut Take Off Your Colours.

Their propelling live performances at the Alternative Press Fall Ball Tour last year (with The Academy Is…, Mayday Parade, Set Your Goals and The Secret Handshake) and the August leg of Van’s Warped Tour, demanded a return to the US this year to celebrate the release of Hold Me Down.

Hold Me Down finds the Surrey, UK quintet fulfilling their potential with a collection of soaring hooks and irresistible melodies. It captures You Me At Six’s live exuberance with “Playing The Blame Game” breaching the gap between pop-punk energy and the snappy immediacy of new wave, while “Safer To Hate Her” alternates between a tender, melancholic riff and a fiercely defiant chorus. But Hold Me Down demonstrates that the band aren’t reliant on pure energy as closing track “Fireworks” escalates from its initial reflective tone into a soaring conclusion. The album also highlights a guest appearance from Kids In Glass Houses vocalist Aled Phillips on “Trophy Eyes.”

An air raid siren heralds the hi-octane thrills of album opener “The Consequence,” plus it features guest vocals courtesy of The Blackout’s Sean Smith. The first full single to be taken from Hold Me Down will be the crunchy power-pop attack of “Underdog.”

The album was produced by John Mitchell (Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari, Architects) and Matt O’Grady (The Blackout, Hexes), and mastered by Bob Ludwig (Radiohead, Coldplay, Pearl Jam).

You Me At Six soon became one of the most vital emerging talents around when they released their debut set Take Off Your Colours. The album’s continuing popularity was proven when it was recently released as a 2CD Deluxe Edition that featured their first Top 40 hit “Finders Keepers.”

However, it’s been You Me At Six’s famously adrenalized live shows that have cemented their growing reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting ascending bands. The band will bring their powerful live show to the US this June followed by appearances on the Van’s Warped Tour.

You Me At Six Summer Tour Dates:

June 21 Fresno, CA Starline supporting Bring Me The Horizon
June 22 Bakersfield, CA Jerry’s supporting Bring Me The Horizon
June 24 – August 15 Vans Warped tour

“The unadulterated glee with which the quintet attack every fists-aloft chorus makes ‘Hold Me Down’ impossible to dislike” – Q

“Tight, tuneful and teenage, this looks like a hit” – Daily Mail

“An artistic statement of intent” – Kerrang!

“You Me At Six sound like they’re transforming into household names” – Metro

Concrete Blonde Announce Tour Celebrating Bloodletting’s Twentieth Anniversary! First Live Dates in 7 Years!

Concrete Blonde Announce Tour Celebrating Bloodletting’s Twentieth Anniversary! First Live Dates in 7 Years!

Forget about Twilight and True Blood, Concrete Blonde’s landmark album Bloodletting is turning 20 and the real vampires are coming to have a drink and walk around a city near you! Concrete Blonde will tour the US for the first time in 7 years with a set list celebrating the album and their career. Released in 1990, Bloodletting spawned the top 20 hit “Joey,” as well as Concrete Blonde classics “Tomorrow, Wendy”, “Caroline”, and “The Sky Is a Poisonous Garden”. It quickly became their most successful album.

Lead singer Johnette Napolitano explains how the tour came about: “People started emailing me and calling me up and telling me that it was the twentieth anniversary of Bloodletting, which had “Joey” on it and was a big hit for us all over the world. My dad passed away recently and was a big fan of the band and it occurred to me that a twentieth anniversary’s only going to happen once and that my dad would have said that it’s a good idea and that we should do it. So we knocked it together and it looks like it’s going to be fun, doing twenty-year-old vampire songs should be fun.”

Concrete Blonde formed in Los Angeles in 1982 and became one of the most beloved alternative bands in the US. Characterized by Napolitano’s inimitable voice, brutally honest lyrics, and the band’s fearless sound that ranges from punk to ballads to Latin music, Concrete Blonde are true originals whose influence can be felt far and wide. Beyond Bloodletting, the band is responsible for classic alternative songs including “Still in Hollywood”, “God is a Bullet”, and their iconic cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows”. Don’t miss your chance to see these legends live!

LOS ANGELES (April 29, 2010) – High octane multi-platinum rockers STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, CREED, GODSMACK, THREE DOORS DOWN, WOLFMOTHER, and HINDER top the long list of bands combining forces with DC3 Global to hijack the world’s biggest, baddest biker event for five full nights of undeniable rock ‘n’ roll bedlam – Monday, Aug. 9 through Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at the inaugural ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL, part of the legendary Sturgis Rally’s 70th Anniversary celebration in Sturgis, SD.

With an unrivaled lineup of 20 bands over five nights and spectacular fireworks displays each night in the nation’s largest outdoor amphitheater at the 600-acre Glencoe CampResort, the ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL promises to be the hands-down largest party ever thrown at the world’s largest motorcycle event, which annually draws over a half million patrons. World famous showman Jim Rose and his side circus are set to emcee the five-day event and give attendees a show they will never forget. Eagles of Death Metal, The Darling Stilettos, Pop Evil, Skillet, and Swayback are just some of the other bands making massive music at this colossal biker bash. Stay tuned for major announcements of many more bands being added in the weeks ahead!

Tickets for the ROCKN’ REV FESTIVAL are $45 per day, general admission ($150 for a five-day pass), and go on sale FRIDAY, April 30 at NOON EST through Ticketmaster.com and rocknrevfestival.com and at all Ticketmaster locations, or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Tickets also will be available each day at the gate. For more information on exclusive VIP packages ($1,000 for five days), including backstage access to a VIP area to special, air-conditioned tents with private bars, motorcycle parking, luxury bathroom facilities and more, go to rocknrevfestival.com. Deeply discounted Concert N’ Camping packages are available on the Glencoe CampResort website at glencoecamp.com. Gates open at 4 p.m. daily. Show time each day is 6 p.m. For complete information, call the hotline at (800) 272-4712.

Jim Rose will be Master of Ceremonies at the ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL all week and will have his wildly acclaimed modern day sideshow, the Jim Rose Circus, unfurling shows between acts nightly. The sideshow originally came to prominence on Lollapalooza’s second stage, when it was called “Lollapalooza’s word-of-mouth attraction” by USA Today and later, “the absolute must-see act” by Rolling Stone. This is the first time in almost 20 years that Jim has returned to the stage at a large-scale festival as Master of Ceremonies.

“This makes Lollapalooza look like Littlepalooza,” says Rose. “This makes Ozzfest seem like Blahfest. Screw Bonnaroo, Rock’N Rev is epic! And I plan on bringing thrills, chills and doctor bills, many of it never seen before.”

Everything about the ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL will appeal to the “leather and chrome” sensibilities in everyone who attends, from those who embody the biker life style to the more casually minded weekend warriors and their families. The Vendor Village will be overflowing with an assortment of food, clothing, gear and other accessories, including loads of top tattoo artists and the best barbeque and related cooking specialists from the nation’s sauciest hotspots such as Austin, Memphis, Chicago, and New Orleans. The overall Mardi Gras atmosphere will recall some of Europe’s top festivals, with a decidedly American flair. After all, biking and rock ‘n’ roll are two of America’s greatest heritages.

While live concerts always have been a staple at Sturgis, there never has been such an incredible concentration of high caliber performers being showcased in a five-day stretch. The unstoppable combination of first-class concert promotions in a first-class camping resort facility is unsurpassed anywhere.

Glencoe CampResort is world-renowned for its clean, comfortable camping facilities, complete with full-service bars and restaurants, in close proximity to the city of Sturgis, providing a resort-like experience for people attending the Sturgis Rally. Still family owned and operated, Glencoe is continuing to develop and improve in conjunction with DC3 Global’s new festival initiative ignited by the ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL. DC3 Global already is raising the bar with plans to expand its festival presence not only at Glencoe, but around the country. DC3 now is helping to oversee and accelerate the continued expansions and upgrades at Glencoe, already including the purchase of additional shaded acreage for camping, the planting of hundreds of new trees, and everything from roads, and the upgrades of bathrooms, food stands and shower houses.

DC3’s co-founder, Daniel E. Catullo III, has been involved in the Sturgis Rally since 2006, as exclusive producers of TV, pay-per-view and DVD specials for RTR in 2006 and 2007, and an executive producer of the Rock ‘N Rally Festival (2007). He’s combining his years of Sturgis experience with the tremendous resources of DC3 to significantly up the ante at Glencoe and launch an entirely new national brand for years to come with the ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL.

“I’ve always seen the need for something large scale at Sturgis,” says Catullo, an award-winning concert video producer and director as well. “We’re looking forward in coming years to see that incredible amphitheater fill to capacity every night. The grounds at Glencoe CampResort are an ideal and idyllic setting to host a multi-day music festival.”

“This is a new beginning for us,” adds Sean Clark, owner of Glencoe Camp Resort. “We’re just so excited with the development of this new ROCK N’ REV FESTIVAL brand and the high degree that DC3 is going to be taking it around the country through other motorcycle festivals.”

Stone Temple Pilots, Wednesday’s headliner (Aug. 11), is one of the rare bands able to sweep the airwaves with a fresh tune while clogging classic rock playlists with its catalog. Between the Lines, the first single from the grunge-era giants’ self-titled comeback album due May 25, is reigning in several formats at rock radio, and topping several rock charts. Indeed, you can turn on any rock station and hear Interstate Love Song, Vasoline, Plush or other ’90s STP hits, but the biggest news is that people are as eager to hear the band’s first new music in a number of years, just as they’ve been through career sales of more than 12 million albums in the U.S. alone. One of STP’s special guests will be Wolfmother, the Australian band whose song “Woman,” off its acclaimed self-titled 2005 debut album, earned their first Grammy (Best Hard Rock Performance). Widely considered one of the all-time top acts to emerge from Down Under, their sophomore album, Cosmic Egg, was released last fall Fronted by the bone-chilling vocals of Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother is frequently compared to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, though Stockdale himself says the band brings “a mix of the playfulness of Earth Wind and Fire with the intensity of Black Flag”. With Stockdale a mainstay out front, Wolfmother will be debuting a new lineup at Rock N’ Rev that includes drummer Will Rockwell-Scott of the Mooney Suzuki. Another STP guest, Swayback, is a breakout Denver band that Spin magazine says “recalls Velvet Underground if they were forced to share a cell with a codeine-addled Danzig and fed a steady diet of Factory Records.” Legendary British producer Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones) has taken Swayback under his sonic wing and recorded music linking its sound with classic purveyors of innovative, guitar-driven rock ‘n’ roll. Other special guests on the 11th include Eagles Of Death Metal. More at www.stonetemplepilots.com, www.wolfmother.com, www.theswayback.com, and www.eaglesofdeathmetal.com.

Creed, headlining Tuesday (Aug. 10), is one of the most successful rock bands of the past decade. Since their formation, Creed has sold close to 35 million albums and millions of concert tickets. The songwriting team of Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti is considered one of the most prolific in rock history. Their new CD Full Circle, debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart last fall. Special guests of Creed will be Skillet, a hard rock outfit breaking from the Christian rock circuit to the secular music world in a major way. The Florida band’s latest album, Awake, debuted at No. 2 in Billboard chart last summer, spawning major radio hits in “Monster” and “Hero,” while World Wrestling Entertainment used both songs in promoting a variety of events. More at www.creed.com and www.skillet.com.

Godsmack, Monday’s headliner (Aug. 9), is making its triumphant return to Sturgis after packing the house in 2007 with one of the most memorable performances in the event’s history. The Boston rockers are touring to support their fifth studio album, The Oracle, being released May 4. It’s the band’s first studio effort since 2006’s IV, another platinum-plus trailblazer for the group, debuting at #1 on The Billboard 200 chart (their second #1 debut following 2003’s Faceless) and harking back to the signature sound of multiplatinum masterpieces like their five-million-selling breakthrough debut album and 2000’s Awake. Godsmack’s most recent album release was the acclaimed greatest-hits package, Good Times Bad Times….Ten Years of Godsmack, delivered to fans at the end of 2007. Godsmack’s special guests will include propulsive Michigan fist-pumpers Pop Evil and swaggering chick-rockers the Darling Stilettos (featuring Guns ‘N Roses’ Matt Sorum on drums). More at www.godsmack.com, www.popevil.com, and www.darlingstilettos.com

“Anyone who doesn’t experience Sturgis during bike week is really missing out on a piece of true American Culture,” adds Godsmack lead singer Sully Erna. “Raw, hard and as real as it gets, Sturgis is a place to rock hard and ride free and Rock N’ Rev is the festival to be at! Can’t wait to get back!”

Three Doors Down, headlining Thursday (Aug. 12), is an American post-grunge band from Mississippi who have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and has had numerous #1 singles including the 2000 hit “Kryptonite.” The band often performs more than 300 concerts per year and have toured with such other artists as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megadeath, Nickelback, Shinedown, Daughtry and Alter Bridge to name a few. Joining 3DD are retro rock juggernauts Hinder, who update classic raw riffs, big hooks and vocal harmonies, with modern guitar sounds. Their triple platinum debut, Extreme Behavior, documented the decadence and strained relationships of these, whose subsequent cover of Steppenwolf’s “Born To Be Wild” for NASCAR last year was a natural extension of their lives on the road. More at www.3doorsdown.com and www.hindermusic.com.

Jim Rose is a veteran sideshow performer and founder of the Jim Rose Sideshow, which was formed in the early 1990s and made famous in 1992 when they toured on the Lollapalooza Festival. Rose will perform between acts with his sideshow buddies and give patrons the show of their lives, which often includes masochistic deeds and stunts. More at www.jimrosecircus.com.

Revolver Golden Gods Awards and Epiphone Aid West Memphis Three Defense Fund Second Annual Hard-Rock and Metal Awards Show Donates Autographed Guitars for Skeleton Key Auctions

Revolver Golden Gods Awards and Epiphone Aid West Memphis Three Defense Fund Second Annual Hard-Rock and Metal Awards Show Donates Autographed Guitars for Skeleton Key Auctions

Revolver’s Golden Gods issue—featuring an exclusive interview with Damien Echols—hits newsstands on May 11

San Francisco, Calif. — America’s premiere hard-rock and heavy-metal awards show, the Revolver Golden Gods presented by Epiphone, has donated two guitars, signed by the event’s winners, performers, and presenters, to raise money for the West Memphis Three defense fund. The WM3 are wrongfully-convicted Arkansas men—Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, who are currently serving life sentences in prison, and Damien Echols, who is on death row (find out more at wm3.org). They were arrested in June 1993 and convicted of murdering three elementary school children in 1994. In July 2007 the results of DNA testing, which was not available at the time of their trials, proved the three should never have been convicted of these heinous crimes.

The first guitar is a Zakk Wylde Graveyard Disciple, designed by the Black Label Society frontman and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, who was awarded the Best Guitarist Award at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods. It features a coffin-shaped body, mother-of-pearl “cross” inlays on the headstock, block fingerboard position markers, contoured double pin-stripe edges, ebony finish, and black hardware. Signatures on the Graveyard Disciple include those of Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, Kerry King of Slayer, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Zakk Wylde, and Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson of Testament.

The second guitar, a Les Paul Prophecy Custom, features the signatures of Slash, Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, Kerry King of Slayer, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Zakk Wylde, Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson of Testament, and Ben Weinman of the Dillinger Escape Plan.

The auction will last for 17 days—from May 24th to June 10th —one day for each year the West Memphis Three have spent behind bars. June 3, 2010, will mark the 17th anniversary of when Echols, Misskelley, and Baldwin were placed behind bars for a crime they did not commit.

All auction proceeds go to the WM3 defense fund via ATA, a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

The starting bid for each instrument has been set at $999.

Revolver’s Golden Gods issue of the magazine hits newsstands on May 11. It features an exclusive interview with Damien Echols and excerpts from Marilyn Manson’s speech on his behalf at the award show. Highlights from the REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS presented by Epiphone will air on VH1 Classic on May 22, 2010.

The Books Announce Their New Album, ‘The Way Out,’ Coming July 20th on Temporary Residence

Five years in the making, The Books have come out the gate running with the announcement of The Way Out, their long awaited fourth studio album coming July 20th on the highly regarded indie label Temporary Residence. Their first full-length album since 2005’s acclaimed Lost and Safe, The Way Out includes all the familiar sounds that longtime fans have come to love while branching into new expanses of found sound, culling from over 4000 tapes collected along the world journeys of the duo’s Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong. From the band:

“The working concept for the sound of ‘The Way Out’ was pretty simple: Every track needs to sound like it comes from its own universe. That is, every track is it’s own rabbit-hole. As on ‘Lost and Safe’ the new record is a mixture of sample based and lyric based songs”

Yesterday, the Books released their first single, ‘Beautiful People’, along with album cover art, which can be downloaded now on Pitchfork. The Books on the song:

“Beautiful People is one of the four ‘sung songs’ on the new record (14 tracks, about 50 minutes in all). In this case, a three part Christian harmony mixed with a sort of euro-disco-trash beat, an orchestra’s worth of sampled brass and lyrics about the twelfth root of two trigonometry and tangrams which will make up the video portion of the song for the live show.”

The Way Out will hit the literal and digital streets all over the world on July 20th, 2010.

“Nobody else really makes music like this.” – PITCHFORK (on The Books’ ‘Beautiful People’)
