Kate Rogers Band announces new EP and NXNE showcase.

Toronto — Kate Rogers Band is set to release a new seven-track EP, Gadabout, on June 22nd via Conveyor Canada. Long-time Kate Rogers supporters CBC Radio 2 will be giving away a free MP3 of ‘Her Home’ leading up to the release. Kate has also been confirmed to perform in Toronto at the official CBC Radio 2 Showcase at this year’s NXNE festival on June 17th at The Rivoli.

The Kate Rogers Band has been extremely busy over the last few years with the release of her brilliant album Beauregard. The band has toured the United Kingdom three times in the past two years including shows at The Great Escape in Brighton and Sound City in Liverpool while be featured as a guest on a number of BBC television and radio programs. At home, Kate has performed at Canadian Music Week and held down a popular residency at Toronto’s Tranzac Club. Beauregard has also been given extensive air play on CBC Radio and she has performed live the network’s programs Q, GO! and Here and Now.

“When putting together an album you are constantly struggling to create a sonic and emotional coherency between the songs,” says Rogers. “Working on Gadabout was a simple pleasure because I chose not to be concerned with any of that. These songs are my beloved misfits. Perhaps to raw and whimsical and maybe to dark for Beauregard.”
