Ideal Friends are ecstatic to present the latest music video from BY DIVINE RIGHT and to confirm a whole slew of upcoming Canadian dates in support of their comeback release, “Mutant Message,” which came out late last year on Hand Drawn Dracula.
“Cupid in Oilskins” is the soundtrack to director José Miguel Contreras’ (aka Salvatore Splattorini) three minute homage to the films of George Romero & Lucio Fulci. José’s music video sends up zombie cinema with a tounge in cheek humor and DIY attitude that is By Divine Right. Hand Drawn Dracula is pleased to present “Cupid in Oilskins” from BDR’s MUTANT MESSAGE – “a compact, potent collection of punchy hooks delivered with devil-may-care energy.” (National Post)
“Last Halloween me and Milosh watched Night of the Living Dead. I had an epiphany. Since we’re all obsessed with the Zombie apocalypse, HEY! let’s make a zombie video for “Cupid in Oilskins”!!! Our main inspiration was Dawn of the Dead, with maybe a bit of Magical Mystery Tour. We filmed it in the forest where I live and had a blast. Ben and Jonathan from Spur of the Moment media helped me do the titles. It stars the band, family, friends and neighbors. We filmed it ourselves and screamed at each other a lot so we could all hear what we were saying.
