Class Actress Debuts VSFW Video for “Adolescent Heart,” Tours the UK

CLASS ACTRESS DEBUTS VSFW VIDEO FOR “ADOLESCENT HEART,” TOURS THE UK

Brooklyn duo Class Actress recently debuted their VSFW (very safe for work) video for “Adolescent Heart,” directed by Jessica Lauretti. Check out the Stereogum premiere and click the image above for the YouTube version. The softer, sentimental counterpart to Elizabeth Harper’s sultry red-lit boudoir video for “Journal of Ardency,” the song for “Adolescent Heart” was co-produced by Jorge Elbrecht (Violens/Lansing-Dreiden) and is featured on Class Actress’ Journal of Ardency debut EP, available now on Chris Taylor from Grizzly Bear and Ethan Silverman’s Terrible Records.

After a west coast tour with Little Boots, a week of shows at SXSW, and several dates around the Northeast with The xx, MNDR, VV Brown, and Dragonette, Class Actress will be heading overseas for a UK tour in support of Journal, before returning home to work on their followup full-length.

As an added bonus, click here to download the mp3 for “Careful What You Say,” the first single off the EP.

“…redolent of the Human League or Eurythmics, thanks to Ms. Harper’s feathery voice, the chugging guitars fading in the distance, the synthesizers hitting each other at the hard right angles” – New York Times

“Brooklyn’s very own Madonna.” – New York Press

“Unabashedly slick electro-pop beats juxtaposed with coy, romantically depressed vocals courtesy of star-in-the-making Elizabeth Harper.” – New York Magazine (Cover Story) Brooklyn’s Sonic Boom – The 40 Songs That Define the Sound

“[Harper’s] passion proves to be the same kind of compelling counterweight to frosty sonics that helped make the music of her influences so memorable.” – Pitchfork (“Rising Artist”)

“Any band that cites Madonna’s first album as a major influence is gonna get a listen from me…their super 80s vibe made the scene feel like the climax of a John Hughes movie, aka awesome. At the end of their short set, I had hearts in my eyes.”- BUST

PRIMUS CONFIRMS US TOUR TICKETS GO ON SALE MAY 8, 2010 NEW ALBUM IN 2011

Influential alternative rock icons Primus are back and have confirmed their first headlining tour in four years. Old friends Gogol Bordello will be joining them on the road playing such venues as the Willamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, NY, and the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Aug 12th. More dates to come as the band refines their chops before heading into the studio to record their first album of brand new music since 1999’s Antipop. The new album will be released in 2011.

Primus formed in the late ’80s in Northern California, releasing their first album, Suck On This, in 1989. They signed to Caroline Records and released the now classic Frizzle Fry in 1990. As part of the alternative rock explosion of the ’90s, the band signed to Interscope and gave the world some of the biggest records of the decade, including Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl and The Brown Album, had several Billboard top 10 debuts, garnered a Grammy nomination and wrote the internationally loved and enduring theme song for South Park.
