Chin Play’s a Role in Eminem’s Road to Recovery

Chin Play’s a Role in Eminem’s Road to Recovery

In 2009, Canadian singer/songwriter/producer Chin Injeti found himself amongst some impressive company having worked on and co-produced tracks for the Clipse, 50 Cent, and Drake.

Chin continues in 2010 to collaborate with superstar artists having just worked on the new Eminem record, Recovery released today, June 22nd. On Recovery, Chin shares writing and performance credits on the tracks “Almost Famous” and “Talkin’ 2 Myself” and also contributed to the production of “Talkin’ 2 Myself” which features Kobe. Both tracks were produced by his L.A. based production partner DJ Khalil.

In addition to this, Chin’s group The New Royales (along with DJ Khalil, Liz Rodrigues and Erik Alcock) also made major contributions with production, performing and writing on two other Eminem’s songs: “25 to Life” and “Won’t Back Down” featuring Pink.

Alongside his increasing profile as a songwriter and producer, Chin continues his solo career as an artist with the release of his own album D’tach (April 6, 2010 Sparks/EMI). D’tach features some big names of it’s own with a guest appearance by K’NAAN on the song “Mask on my Face”.

Fellow Teen Island superstar Justin Bieber’s “MY WORLD 2.0” summer tour adds Jessica as special guest; also featured on “Overboard” duet on his #1 album,

MY WORLD 2.0

(June 17, 2010 – New York, NY) Mercury Records/Teen Island’s newest young star, 15-year old Los Angeles-based Jessica Jarrell – who will join fellow Teen Island star Justin Bieber on his first headlining North American tour this summer – is in the spotlight as her brand new single “Up and Running” hits pop and rhythm radio formats across the country on June 21st.

The video for the single, produced by hit making duo, The Runners, will be shot in New York on June 21st, as her single is impacting at radio. News of the summer release of Jessica’s debut album on Mercury Records will be announced in the months ahead.

Jessica’s Mercury career started at the top of the charts with, “Armageddon,” a Top 5 Billboard dance hit. Elsewhere, Jessica can be heard on “Overboard,” a duet with Justin Bieber, co-written and co-produced by Midi Mafia, on Justin’s #1 album MY WORLD 2.0. Fitting her upbeat, feel-good vibe, she can be seen in the summer print campaign for Pastry’s newest dance sneaker.

A working singer and child model since age two, Jessica is also a seasoned young songwriter. She draws inspiration for her lyrics from her family, teenage experiences at school and in her budding music career – as well as her daydreams. “Words are spinning in my head,” she said about the ‘old soul’ perspective of her writing. “I hope everyone can have fun listening to it, but I hope everyone will learn something because they can relate to what I’m singing about too!”

Download Frazey’s Single, “Firecracker” HERE

The Be Good Tanyas’ Frazey Ford is set to release her debut solo album Obadiah on July 20. Obadiah combines Frazey’s gorgeous sultry vocals that defined the Tanyas’ sound, with her ever growing love for soul music, adding a rich fullness and bottom end to the 13 tracks that comprise the debut.

Recorded during a blissful Vancouver summer, Obadiah is a collection of songs hand-carved by the hardships and exaltations of life and stained with the rich colors of soul and folk music that fueled artists like Joni Mitchell, Ann Peebles, Neil Young, and Donny Hathaway.

Fronting the beloved East Vancouver alt folk trio, The Be Good Tanyas, Frazey and the band achieved cult status since their beginning in the late 90’s. With classic albums Blue Horse, Chinatown and Hello Love, the three young women were met with ever growing critical and fan acclaim, garnering 4 star reviews in Rolling Stone and MOJO and selling out concert halls across North America and Europe.

THE CAT EMPIRE INVITE YOU TO THEIR OFFICIAL GLOBAL ALBUM LAUNCH WORLD CLASS – CATCHY AS HELL – ‘CINEMA’ – AVAILABLE JUNE 25

THE CAT EMPIRE INVITE YOU TO THEIR OFFICIAL GLOBAL ALBUM LAUNCH WORLD CLASS – CATCHY AS HELL – ‘CINEMA’ – AVAILABLE JUNE 25

Ever wanted to witness Australia’s premier live act, The Cat Empire, launch a brand new album? Now you can. Actually, anyone in the world can!

The Cat Empire will deliver a unique ‘virtual’ launch of their new album CINEMA this Sunday June 20, making them the first (known) Australian band to broadcast an Australian concert live to fans all over the world, with a one second delay.

After years of dreaming about the possibility of presenting a Global Gig, the band discovered technology, provided by local Melbourne company Rivus which would enable them to play to their global fanbase at any time. The technology was developed by a group of young entrepreneurial uni students who were friends of Felix from The Empire. The Rivus technology is commonly used to stream sporting events, but its application to music is just about to take off. The development of a broadcasting box enables the band to broadcast shows from anywhere in the world, with surprisingly little complexity.

The advent of this technology, and its accessibility opens up new possibilities for emerging bands who face limitations in touring the globe, but want to reach a global audience. It also enables bands to monetise virtual gigs through the selling of tickets to online shows.

In the case of The Cat Empire this weekend though, it is a free event, aimed at playing to an already well established bastion of fans worldwide.

“This is something we were talking about years ago, and at the time it was just a dream idea” said Felix from The Empire. “We were saying ‘wouldn’t it be wild if we could play live with people watching over the internet from all over the world?’ And now the technology actually exists to do that.”

This technology presents the perfect opportunity for The Cat Empire to simultaneously release their new album worldwide to fans in all corners of the world. They have amassed a huge following throughout Europe, UK, Canada, USA and parts of Asia as a result of years of extensive touring. Thousands of these fans will be in attendance when the band takes to the stage at a secret Melbourne location on Sunday night.

People have registered from a staggering 56 countries already to attend this event from as far as Brazil, Peru, Canada, United Kingdom, all parts of Europe, United Emirates, Istanbul, United States and of course Australian fans who remain fierce supporters of the band’s music. The band is planning future events utilising this technology where fans in Australia will be able to attend shows in other cities; from Montreal to Mozambique and everywhere in between.

There is still time to register to ‘virtually’ attend this free event which can be Streamed on home computers wherever you happen to be at 10.30pm Melbourne time on Sunday June 20.

Worldwide times for this unique event are:
Melbourne time: Sunday June 20, 10.30pm
NYC: Sunday June 20, 8.30am
Toronto: Sunday June 20, 8.30am
Vancouver: Sunday June 20, 5.30am
LA: Sunday June 20, 5.30am
London: Sunday June 20, 1.30pm
Berlin: Sunday June 20, 2.30pm
Paris: Sunday June 20, 2.30pm
Tokyo: Sunday June 20, 9.30pm
Or to check your city: http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/full.html

To register your intention ahead of time to join us for the launch, go to www.thecatempire.com, click on ATTEND ALBUM LAUNCH and follow the prompts. Type in promo code : “presser” for access. The band will do ‘live’ shout-outs to fans who register in advance!

100 lucky people, who will need to be the fastest internet users in the state of Victoria will get the chance to attend this event in person. The band has today released 100 of their guest tickets for public purchase. These people will join the bands friends and family and fiercest supporters in the room to witness the launch of CINEMA.
