O.Children are set to release their self-titled debut full-length in the Fall, 2010 on vinyl and physical bonus edition CD with options to preorder the digital version here on iTunes this Summer:

‘O.Children’ the debut is as extraordinary as it is epic, and heavy as it is heartfelt. Strange hooks, swirling minimalist guitars and drums reminiscent of a time that many can recall as the psychedelic “shoegaze” era of the 80’s and early 90’s. With serious nods to the likes of Bauhaus, Sisters Of Mercy, Joy Division and of course Nick Cave (who wrote the song the band took as their name), O.Children’s self titled debut is something completely out of sync with their contemporaries. Their self-titled debut full length ‘O.Children’ will be available digitally on July 12th on iTunes along with the option to pre-order your limited edition physical vinyl (single+remixes), limited edition posters & CD copy of the full length with bonus tracks not available online here.

London’s own, O.Children are Tobi O’Kandi (Vox), Andi Sleath (Drums) Gauthier Ajarrista (Guitar) and Harry James (Bass), and all barely out of their teens when they were swept up in a fine frenzy of critical acclaim across our shores, having hit people’s radar in late 2009. Frontman Tobi is like nothing you have ever heard or seen before. Towering and intimidating at 6 foot 8, he has complete command of the stage; channeling perhaps both Grace Jones and Lux Interior with the most extraordinary baritone voice you’d hear this side of 1950. Each band member brings something completely different to the mix, musically and stylistically.

The band signed to cutting edge London based indie label Deadly People in early 2010, then hit the studio with none other than one half of Simian Mobile Disco’s Jas Shaw (who produced the bands first single ‘Ruins’). After the release of their debut single this Spring, UK music critics’ chin’s started to wag and appetites were whetted with their refreshing new sound, look and live performances across the country. Recently the lads hit the studio again to record their debut full-length album in South East England. Finally, pressed, packaged and ready to be heard, O.Children the album will soon to be available worldwide with a tour expected end of the year in North America.

Recently, they’ve sold out venues across the UK, claimed a leagion of fans and support from BBC Radio 1 (including Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and Nick Grimshaw) and are due to play a multitude of amazing festivals (including Glastonbury, Bestival, Latitude, Lovebox amongst others). Previous singles ‘Dead Disco Dancer’ and ‘Ruins’ sold out limited edition 7 inches within a matter of days. Pre-order and receive your vinyl and full-length album before they hit stores in early October, when the band hope to head to US shores for a slew of live dates.
