Of the Blue Colour of the Sky Extra Nice Edition
Set For November 2nd Release On Paracadute

(Los Angeles, CA) The world premiere of “White Knuckles,” the video for OK Go’s new single, will be on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” next Monday, September 20th. (Please check local listings for details.) The new clip – which will be embeddable, like all of the other videos from Of the Blue Colour of the Sky – can be seen thereafter at Ellen’s website. OK Go will cap off Monday with a performance of “White Knuckles” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

In customary OK Go fashion, “White Knuckles” was filmed in one continuous shot. Like the band’s GRAMMY®-winning video “Here It Goes Again,” it was directed by the band and Trish Sie, lead singer Damian Kulash’s sister. It was shot in Corvallis, OR. “White Knuckles” is the latest in the band’s series of inventive music videos that have set internet records and won numerous awards. The Producers Guild of America, in association with Variety, recently named OK Go as one of 2010’s “Digital 25,” recognizing the 25 leading visionaries, innovators and producers in digital media.

The band’s latest album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, debuted in the Top 40 of The Billboard 200 earlier this year.On November 2nd, OK Go will release Of the Blue Colour of the Sky Extra Nice Edition on its own record label, Paracadute. In addition to the original 13-song collection -hailed by Spin as “ambitious” and named by mtv.com’s Kyle Anderson “the best album of the year (so far)” – the extra nice edition will feature a second disc packed with alternate versions, demos and covers (The Pixies’ “Gigantic” and The Zombies’ “This Will Be Our Year”). In addition, disc two will include an exclusive interview with OK Go and the album’s producer, Dave Fridmann, conducted by Ira Glass, host of the public radio program “This American Life” and an early champion of the band.

OK Go has partnered with Indaba and Rock Band Network on a remix contest for “White Knuckles” that willrun through October 14th. Each week starting September 21st, Dave Fridmann will choose winners to feature across all OK Go web properties. The grand prize winner will be announced on October 29th and will have his/her remix mastered and made available for download in Rock Band. The grand prize winner will also receive a gaming console, a copy of Rock Band 3, and a set of Rock Band instruments. Further details are available at http://www.okgo.net.

In 2010 alone, the band received a Special Achievement Award at the Webby Awards, the Audience Choice Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival, two awards at the World Music and Independent Film Festival and “The Audience Choice” award for Viral/Web Film at the AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) Show & NEXT Awards. OK Go’s videos have been screened at over a dozen film festivals, both here and throughout Europe, including the U.K., France, Italy, Finland, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and Belgium.

On September 24th, the British Film Institute (BFI) will host an evening with OK Go at Southbank in London, conducting a Q&A session with band members and screening many of their videos. OK Go headlined the MTV Brazil Music Awards last night. The band will launch a headlining North American tour on October 2nd. Supporting acts will include Company of Thieves, Those Darlins, Summer Darling, Eytan & the Embassy and Samuel. See below for itinerary.

“White Knuckles” is the fourth song from Of the Blue Colour of the Sky that the band has created a video for. “End Love,”a 21-hour single-shot video in which the band members choreographed even their sleeping, was the first music video to premiere at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. “This Too Shall Pass” actually inspired two videos – a live version filmed with 130 members of the Notre Dame marching band and a second clip, which was shot inside a Rube Goldberg machine created by OK Goand Syyn Labs engineers. The latter is the #1 Top Rated (All Time) music video on YouTube. And the vibrant clip for the album’s first single – “WTF?” – was made in a green room with gaff tape, props from the 99¢ Only Store and the help of 16 kind friends.

OK Go – comprising Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross – is the most downloaded band in history.
