NPR TINY DESK CONCERT ON FEBRUARY 7TH

Seattle four-piece Ivan & Alyosha are excited to unveil the beautiful acoustic performance video for their song “Fathers Be Kind”, the title track from their forthcoming EP, out February 1st via Missing Piece records. Following the release of their album the band have a busy schedule with an NPR Tiny Desk Concert running February 7th, and appearances confirmed for Folk Alliance, Dead Of Winter Festival, 35 Conferette Festival, SXSW 2011, and Mountain Stage where they’ll open for country great Lucinda Williams.

The “Fathers Be Kind” video may be viewed on their site in conjunction with an interview describing the song itself. It is the first in a series of videos that will chronicle the making of Fathers Be Kind with a new acoustic performance and video description of the songs on the EP each week leading up to the release of the album.

The Fathers Be Kind EP has been well received in early reviews. “The band evokes a wisdom beyond their years with warm harmonies and lush melodies throughout the 5-track EP,” writes Filter. They go on to compare the band to a “literary-minded cross between Local Natives & Fleet Foxes.” Seattle Weekly writes that Ivan & Alyosha have “found the formula for pop gold.” With Fathers Be Kind, the group build upon the success of their debut EP The Verse, The Chorus, which won attention from outlets ranging from NPR Song of The Day, to Rolling Stone, whom praised their “smooth, soaring guitar pop.”

The band look forward to taking their songs direct to fans in the new year with a national tour surrounding upcoming performances.
