Glacial Pace Recordings To Release Morning Teleportation’s Debut Album on March 8

Band Announces 2011 Tour Dates & Confirm SXSW Stop

Glacial Pace Recordings is pleased to announce the March 8th release of Expanding Anyway, the debut album from Morning Teleportation. Expanding Anyway was recorded during breaks in the band’s touring schedule that has taken them out with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Cage The Elephant, Modest Mouse and a triumphant first run at last year’s CMJ, where the NY Times discovered the band’s unforgettable live performances:

“Morning Teleportation, from Portland, Ore., crammed ideas into songs that leaped impatiently, and gleefully, from style to style.” -JON PARELES, NY Times

To witness Morning Teleportation’s live show is to experience a cacophony of improvisational mayhem draped with melodic twists and turns. Lead Vocalist Tiger Merritt’s vocals dart sharply about the frantic, pulsing backbeat held down by the rhythm section, while his spacey fingerstyle guitar prowess embodies a style best described as “finger-trippin.” The band takes their roller coaster of tumultuous rock ‘n’ roll and deep-space pickin’ ‘n’ grinnin’ back on the road beginning March 10 with a record release show at the Doug Fir in Portland and then through SXSW, with a return to the east coast immediately following. See below for latest tour itinerary. Additional dates to be announced.

Expanding Anyway was produced by Glacial Pace owner Isaac Brock along with Clay Jones. Morning Teleportation is: Tiger Merritt (vocals/guitar), Travis Goodwin (keyboards), Paul Wilkerson (bass) and Tres Coker (drums).
