THE NAKED AND FAMOUS WIN PHILLIP HALL RADAR AWARD AT THE NME AWARDS
BAND SET TO EMBARK ON FIRST U.S. TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM PASSIVE ME, AGGRESSIVE YOU
2011 has seen The Naked And Famous begin to make waves outside of their native New Zealand with their debut album, Passive Me, Aggressive You. Set to be released in the U.S. on March 15th via Universal Republic Records, the band is rapidly gaining attention on both sides of the Atlantic with the album and their single Young Blood.
Following in the footsteps of The Drums, Glasvegas and The Big Pink, the Phillip Hall Radar Award was won by the band last night at the NME Awards. The honor is given to the band deemed the most worthy to have graduated from NME Magazine’s Radar pages over the past year.
Coming off the band’s growing U.K. and U.S. buzz, the band are gearing up for their first U.S. tour and appearance at SXSW in the spring. Set to play a packed schedule in Austin and shortly after kicking off a month long tour supporting Foals with Freelance Whales, the band will be cross-crossing North America and hopefully coming to a city near you soon.
