TINY ANIMALS RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “WAIT FOR ME” NEW ALBUM OUT APRIL 5 ON NORTH STREET RECORDS

New York City power-pop trio Tiny Animals have a reputation, as American Songwriter put it, for leaving folks “head over heels in love.” With prominent placements on popular television shows like MTV’s Jersey Shore, Teen Mom 2 and The Real World, it’s clear that Tiny Animals offer what the Washington Post Express called “unapologetically hooky mainstream-friendly rock.”

Tiny Animals announce the release of the music video for their single “Wait For Me,” off their sophomore album Our Own Time, releasing April 5, 2011 on North Street Records. Directed by Richard Giannotti (who also directed Tiny Animals’ video for “Useless” off their debut album), animated by Michael Ferraro and his team at CUNY, and with artwork by Casey Matthews, the music video illustrates a new side of Tiny Animals.

Tiny Animals – Wait For Me video

“Most people know us for our ridiculous webisodes and funny videos, so we wanted to show another side of our personalities,” says Tiny Animals guitarist and vocalist Chris Howerton. “‘Wait For Me’ is obviously a catchy, upbeat song, but what I think is best about it is the open-ended feeling you get when it ends. Lyrically speaking, the song was intended to create that feeling of infinite longing, and the music matches it perfectly. The last chord leaves you hanging off of a cliff with no resolution, just like the video’s images do.”

Tiny Animals were inspired by the style of The Nutcracker, and essentially in the video drummer Rita Maye plays the doll, bassist Anton Kreisl the prince, and Chris acts as Drosselmeyer. Using green screen to film the scenes, the team then overlaid and animated the artwork in post-production. The result is a video that illustrates Chris, in the real world, painting the fantasy world dioramas which Anton and Rita “live” in.
