Rolling Stone has announced Lelia Broussard has been voted into the top eight! Lelia is one of eight artists to advance to the second round on the strength of fan votes (the force of which is evidenced by Lelia receiving over 10,000 Facebook likes during the contest’s first round!). Voting for the second round will run through April 14th at http://www.rollingstone.com/choosethecover.

This week Lelia is down at SXSW in Austin, TX which will see her performing at several showcases (schedule below) as well as doing interviews with some of her favorite artists as a correspondent forAmerican Songwriter online. Lelia will be promoting her new album MASQUERADE, which will have a deluxe edition being released on CD April 5th. Masquerade’s deluxe edition bonus-track compact disc will also feature previously unreleased recordings as well as the original ten songs included on the November 2010 digital release of the album. The album has garnished extensive press coverage including AOL’s Music Blog who premiered the video for the single “Satellite.”

Produced by Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson, Jenny Owen Youngs), Masquerade boasts an intriguing collection of indie/folk/pop gems, bringing to mind a cross between Jenny Lewis, Diane Birch and Beth Orton.
