Dinosaur Bones’ Announce New Summer Tour Dates in Support of My Divider

Dinosaur Bones’ Announce New Summer Tour Dates in Support of My Divider (tour dates below)

“Temporary-Parisian CFCF‘s remix of Dinosaur Bones “Birthright” takes what was once a solid, solid mono-rock song on some space-filter shit, retaining the original’s structure while replacing guitars with square waves and drum kits with programming not unlike “In The Air Tonight”. It works super well, sounding something like a younger Radiohead we wish existed….” – The Fader

“If you’re in need of a great yet simple rock record, one with its heart on its sleeve and a subtle feeling of grandiosity, then dig no deeper than this effort.” – Consequence of Sound

”The hazy layers of reverb and distortion over the instruments and vocals add great depth to songs that, stripped down, would make compelling pop tunes.” – Death And Taxes

Toronto’s Dinosaur Bones continues to tour after the highly successful dates with Toyko Police Club and supporting Broken Social Scene at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Released on Dine Alone Records, My Divider’s release follows the recent premiere of CFCF’s remix of “Birthright” on Altered Zones. Grab the MP3 HERE. The Fader also posted the remix saying that it sounds “something like a younger Radiohead we wish existed.”

The Birthright EP was released last year, earning the band widespread acclaim across Canada. Now they return with their full debut My Divider, and they’re bringing their brand of indie pop to the States.

The ambition of My Divider is easily noticeable. They continue to show their growth as a band with driving tracks like opener “Making Light” and “Sharks in the Sand.” “Highwire Act” and “Point of Pride” show off the band’s penchant for complicated melodies paired with guitar-driven stomps, a la influences like The Walkmen and Chavez. The title track, “My Divider,” closes the album and showcases frontman Ben Fox’s passionate lyrics and assured delivery. As a quintet, Dinosaur Bones’ ranges of influences are widely varied. This yields a sound that is equal parts fuzzed out indie rock and heartfelt emotion, but the cohesion and sensibility are unmistakable.
