Iceage Announce First U.S. Tour! Debut Album, New Brigade, Out June 21 on What’s Your Rupture?

“one of the best punk rock records released in years” – Noel Gardner, The Quietus

“The songs on New Brigade are played with the same high-octane energy that’s heard on earlier albums from modern punk leaders F**ked Up and No Age, and like them, Iceage have the makings of greatness.’” – Ric Leichtung, Altered Zones

Copenhagen’s Iceage are announcing their first US tour in support of their debut album, New Brigade. Currently touring the UK with F**ked Up, the four teenagers (presently 18/19 years old) will play a week of shows in June, including the Northside Festival in NY, briefly returning home to finish up a year of high school and play the Roskilde Festival (second year in a row!), and then return to the states for a month-long, nationwide tour in July and August. A full tour schedule is below.

Iceage’s New Brigade will be widely available on What’s Your Rupture? in North America on CD/LP/Digital June 21.

“The Copenhagen quartet have been getting a bit of attention overseas in part because of their ages — they formed the band when they were all about 17, are currently 18 to 19. What’s more impressive, though, is the dark, manic, explosive, and always somehow poppy, well-wrought no-wave-infused post-anarcho-punk they create. (OK, it is also impressive that four dudes Miley Cyrus’s age have such a grasp on these noisy, addictive melodies and obviously know the atmosphere of the history.)” — Brandon Stosuy, Stereogum

“The band members are clearly old-beyond-their-years prodigies” – Nick Neyland, Pitchfork

“I think this record might warrant a future reprisal of a long lost honest-punk-scene we last saw in the mid-80s.” — R. Ellis, Weekly Tape Deck

“they demonstrate a timeless maturity of an ageless band from any era. Combining explosive post-punk with energetic hardcore and a melodic sense of songwriting, their debut album, New Brigade, is earning them a ton of well-deserved hype.” – Josiah Hughes,

“Simply put, Iceage tap a vein of musical disfigurement that I haven’t heard before, and I’m dying to know how they came up with it. . . . Motorik without motor skills, New Brigade actually sounds new.” – Ben Donnelly, Dusted

“So good. Like post-punk with a weird hardcore slant and even a slight blackmetal vibe.” – Impose (The best music of March 2011)
