Tour Kicks Off November 2

Glasgow’s TWIN ATLANTIC has announced plans for a U.S. tour supporting AWOLNATION along with Middle Class Rut. The trek begins November 2 in Bakersfield, CA and concludes on November 23 in Philadelphia, PA.

The band is out in support of its critically-lauded debut full-length, FREE, which was recorded at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica, CA with legendary producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World). Free, the follow up to the well-received debut EP, Vivarium, continues to expand upon the band’s signature sound, melding angular riffs with energetic choruses. Explosive and hard charging, yet melodic and thoughtful, the tracks cut deep and ring true to the listener, leaving a lasting impression.

In describing the batch of songs that make up FREE, front man Sam McTrusty explains, “We wanted there to be a brutal honesty in the lyrics. There are love songs and relationship songs, there are some with a party vibe, and there are some that are weird, heavy and grungy pop songs.” Guitarist Barry McKenna adds, “Personally the only thing I wanted to achieve from this whole process is an album the four of us could stand by and invest ourselves in. We have done that.”

The video for the title track and current U.S. single “Free” was directed by Howard Greenhalgh (Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”) and can be viewed here

Fresh off several highly buzzed about festival performances throughout Europe and the UK this summer, Twin Atlantic are excited to get back to the states for their first U.S. tour since the release of Free. Says McTrusty,
“Touring in America is such a great experience; we love the music culture over there and everything that surrounds it. Really looking forward to touring with two bands we love and getting to make new fans and play our new record to the fans we’ve already made stateside.”

Praise for Twin Atlantic’s FREE:

“…an ambitious and truly spectacular debut… Free is the sound of a band losing the chains…and writing songs that the hairs on the back of their necks adore… Holding nothing back sounds exactly like this, everyone else please take note. 9 out of 10”- Rock Sound

“A record so strong it’s hard to single out standout tracks, and even harder to locate points of weakness, and by anyone’s standards, this is one hell of an achievement.”- Kerrang!

“…densely woven guitars and rattling choruses…Twin Atlantic are doing nothing wrong and much that is right–their future looks bright indeed.”- Q Magazine

“A great rock band that will continue to push more doors open for themselves…4 out of 5- Alterthepress
