“David Longstreth’s songs here are acrobatic battles between creamy harmonies and flourishes of dissonance.” – TIME, #4 Best of 2012

Starting this spring and continuing through the summer, Dirty Projectors are heading out on tour in the the U.S. The band will play a special series of festival dates, including stops at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Governor’s Ball, Bottle Rock, and more. Dave Longstreth and Co. will also be heading out on tour alongside The National, playing a a run of shows with the band in June. Dirty Projectors also have shows planned for the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, as well as a pair of intimate gigs at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. “We wanted to do something special for Chicago since we weren’t able to play a club show there on the last tour.? says Dave Longstreth. “So we booked an early and late show at Lincoln Hall, sixties style.”

To coincide with Dirty Projectors’ upcoming dates, the band has also made the b-side “There’s a Fire” available for stream. Originally released on the “Offspring Are Blank” 7” for the band’s Carnegie Hall show this winter, this is the first time the track has been widely available. Listen to the track here and watch the “Offspring are Blank” music video here. An extremely limited number of the original 250 7” records are available at the Domino online store here.

These special dates come as Dirty Projectors continue to support the critically acclaimed record Swing Lo Magellan. Released in 2012, the album earned praise from across the spectrum, garnering spots on year end lists from NPR, Spin, Rolling Stone, Filter, Stereogum, and more, as well as ending up at the #11 spot on the Village Voice’s Pazz ‘n’ Jop critics’ poll. Swing Lo Magellan is currently available for purchase on the Domino Records online store, including the last remaining copies of the DLX LP edition.
