Kenna Debuts Exclusive Track on Zune Marketplace

Critically acclaimed artist Kenna is Zune’s “Ignition” artist for the month of March and is releasing the track “Black Goodbye Ride” exclusively on Zune Marketplace for a period of one month beginning March 25. In addition, Kenna is currently offering the Zune Freebie “Say Goodbye to Love”, a track-by-track Breakdown of his latest album Make Sure They See My Face, and an exclusive Guestlist featuring tracks hand-picked by the artist himself. MSN is streaming exclusive video of interviews and behind the scenes footage from the making of the “Say Goodbye to Love” video shoot, which is also being featured as a free download on Xbox Live.

Kenna’s participation in the Ignition program coincides with a customized promotional black 4GB Zune media player featuring an original piece of art designed by Kenna and Jeff McMillan called “The Translator.” The devices are numbered and limited to 200 pieces and are loaded with the “Say Goodbye to Love” video (directed by Hype Williams) along with the full album.

The Zune Ignition program gives recording artists with new releases a unique channel to potentially reach tens of millions of consumers, whether those consumers are browsing music online, playing games or catching up on the latest news. For the first time, Microsoft Corp. has packaged promotional opportunities across Zune, Xbox and MSN to help artists more efficiently reach consumers in all three audiences. Ignition provides a steady stream of new music through online access to exclusive content, free song and video downloads, streaming video, editorial features, and artist playlists. Participants in the Ignition program have included Hot Chip, Ryan Adams, Talib Kweli, Band of Horses, Freeway, Rogue Wave, and The Black Dahlia Murder.
