“TO CURE EVERYONE’S CURIOSITY” WU-TANG LATINO ANSWERS VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS: WHERE IS THE WU-TANG, AND WHY DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION?

April, 2008–New York, NY. Musical creativity and its distribution has come a long way. At first there were vinyl records, then 8-tracks, cassettes, and most recently CDs. Purchases of these recordings depended on our desire to hear the music we were buying, along with how far the record store was, whether we wanted to spend the money, and if we had enough dedication to actually go out and buy the music in question.

Years have passed, and as always technology has found a way to simplify tasks. Although simplification is a wonderful way to help laziness, it also creates new outlets of complete curiosity. Why digital, you must be wondering? As the trend of surfing the net grows annually, the financial gain of selling physical CDs is on a serious decline. It is easier for most consumers like yourself to stay home, click a button, and bop your head to that tune you couldn’t wait to hear. “In today’s society digital music sales account for 30 percent of [music] industry sales,” said Rayroq Acosta, owner of Wu-Tang Latino. “We are not just a label, we are a Latin movement. If the technology is on the move, we are ahead of it. If our listeners are inconvenienced with buying physical disks, we want to put our music in their finger tips.” He added. As per a report on digital and mobile music sales written by Erick Schonfeld, “While online sales of digital music in the U.S. are nearly double those of mobile sales, there is some evidence that gap might close (or even reverse) as mobile data networks become faster. In Japan, for instance, 91 percent of digital music sales are mobile and 40 percent are full-track mobile downloads (the rest are ringtones).”

Along with diversifying music distribution, the sound itself has been growing tremendously, and experimenting with the grounds of various sounds. Many loyal listeners have heard the singles off of the “Wu Latino Presenta La Familia” album and asked one question: Where is the Wu-Tang “street” sound and the Latin fire on these tracks? Rest assured our loyal listeners. The compilation album due to be released digitally on April 29th, will quench your “WU” thirsts. Although the singles “Mama” (Barrio Boyz) and “Freshest Thing” (Fly and Polzino) are more mainstream, most of the album is full of raw Latin Hip Hop from artists like Mangani, UKrime and Greckz.

In spite of the fact that you won’t be able to hear all the music off of the “Wu Latino Presenta La Familia” compilation until the official release date of April 29th, Wu Latino would like to invite you to cop some ring tones by texting the following codes from your mobile phone:
