Karina’s Debut Album, “First Love” Hits Stores on August 19th
Def Jam recording artist, Karina and Girl Scouts have launched the “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE” contest. Girls 13 years or older can submit essays explaining what “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE” means to them. Submissions can explain how they overcame a difficult obstacle in life, how they are working towards making the impossible possible or how they have been inspired by Karina’s music. Ending September 30th, the contest winner will win the chance to meet Karina in person at the 2008 Girl Scout National Convention in Indianapolis. Teens can submit their essays at www.meetkarina.net girlscouts.
Karina has just begun a vigorous touring schedule. She is currently performing with Lupe Fiasco on the Coca-Cola Teen Concert Tour, one of the most hotly-promoted and visible events in Coke’s annual calendar. The tour, which began in Los Angeles is attracting 1,500 to 3,000 teens at each VIP show. The tour then continues to Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago and finally New York. At the same time she is participating on the Russ Parr Russ Bus Tour where new and emerging artists get a chance to showcase their talents in front of Russ Parr’s vast listening audience. The Russ Parr Russ Bus Tour is visting Detroit, Wilmington, Cleveland, Louisville, Indianapolis, Fayetteville and Raleigh.
“Can’t Find the Words” is the second single by New York City’s newest 17-year old star Karina. It follows up “16 @ War,” which was written and produced by her fellow Def Jam team mates The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, the same duo responsible for Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Madonna’s “Me Against the Music.”
“Can’t Find the Words” and “16 @ War,” both featured on FIRST LOVE, can also be heard at Karina’s MySpace website, http://www.myspace.com/karinapasian . The website has logged over 1.77 million total plays to date, drawn over 2.1 million profile views, and attracted 79,000 friends. Also posted on the website are “Slow Motion,” the uptempo dancefloor scorcher “Baby Baby” featuring Lil’ Mama, and “The Love We Got.”
