Futuristic alternative/blues and soul artist Janelle Monáe has been turning heads this summer with her debut album Metropolis: The Chase Suite (Special Edition), which was released earlier this month through Wonderland Arts Society/Bad Boy Records. To compliment the release, she has teamed with Zune Marketplace to offer unique and exclusive content.

Fans can visit a special feature page where they can access an exclusive live version of the single “Violet Stars Happy Hunting,” as well as a track-by-track Breakdown of the new album in the artist’s own words. Janelle then takes fans deeper into her alternate universe with an exclusive Zune Guestlist, where she has chosen songs that have touched her emotions, created unforgettable moments, and inspired her to become what she is today. Alongside her own picks are select features from some of her biggest musical influences such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Bjork, Buddy Holly, and Judy Garland.

Zune has also taped an exclusive interview with Janelle at Central Park Summer Stage in New York City, which will appear as part of the new “Green Room” series on Zune Marketplace. Launching in early September, the series will feature unique and informative one-on-one backstage interviews with today’s most compelling artists. During the BET Awards in June, Janelle performed a private show at the Zune L.A. space, where the network was capturing live footage for later broadcast.
