A-TRAK TEAMS UP WITH SANTOGOLD AND BOYS NOIZE THIS FALL!
… “ATTACK OF THE UNIBROS” TOUR WITH GERMANY’S BOYS NOIZE HITS NORTH AMERICA IN OCTOBER
… SUPPORTING DATES WITH SANTOGOLD IN LATE SEPTEMBER
… FIRST EVER A-TRAK ARTIST 12″ DROPPING ON KITSUNÉ
Always the globetrotting diplomat, Montreal-born and NYC-based DJ A-Trak is pairing up with Berlin’s raucous phenom Boys Noize and Brooklyn’s own Santogold for a handful of select North American tour dates this fall. Kicking off the tour in Philadelphia with Santogold on September 23rd, A-Trak will also resume his “Attack of the Unibros” world tour with Boys Noize beginning October 2nd in Toronto.
Uniting two of the most highly skilled DJs in their respective fields, the “Attack of the Unibros” tour will find A-Trak and Boys Noize bridging the gap between hip-hop, electro, house, and further blurring the genre distinctions in between. Influenced early on by the minimal urgency of hip-hop and later embracing dance music of all kinds, A-Trak and Boys Noize represent the current state of electronic music like none of their peers.
Whether as the head of the Fool’s Gold label, his years spent as Kanye West’s DJ, or his recent Nike+ workout mix Running Man, A-Trak is seemingly everywhere. After last year’s string of high profile of remixes (Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, MSTRKRFT and Kanye, to name a few), A-Trak got scouted by prestigious French imprint Kitsuné, who will be releasing his “Say Whoa” 12″ (which Boys Noize remixed, of course) this October. His club smashing monster collaboration with Laidback Luke, “Shake It Down”, will come out on Fool’s Gold shortly after. Oh, and did we mention that as you read this, he’s mastering Kid Sister’s album, which he executive produced? It’s all in a day’s work for the snazzy Canadian.
“[A-Trak] has turned the art of turntablism back toward its original party-rocking focus.” – PITCHFORK
“A turntable-prodigy-turned-musical-visionaryŠ[A-Trak’s] sets invariably introduce genres that have no business hanging out together, but somehow work in his mind-bending, booty-motivating segues.” – CHICAGO TRIBUNE
“Boys Noize’s sound is all his own-cleaner and harder than that of his French counterparts.” – XLR8R
